“There are also the studies that show that children raised in single parent homes do not do as well -————”

Here we go again. My father died when we were 2 and 5 years old.

We had a wonderful mother who raised us on her own.

We did okay.

With all due respect, your single experience has absolutely nothing to do with whether this statistic is true or not. For example, let's say we threw you into a sample of 100 other people who grew up with single moms. You did great, and so did 5 other kids, but the other 94 went down the drain. Well, then both the original statement that kids don't do well with single moms AND your statement that you did just fine would both be true.

The logic you are using is one of the cornerstones of leftwing logic - that we should keep doing things that cause damage the vast majority of the time because we can point to a single instance where it did not do damage.

I'll give you another example of the logic you are using: I'm going to go out and spend my paycheck on lottery tickets. Everyone tells me that it's 80 million to one that I'll win, which is the same as saying I won't ever win, but I read about a guy that won, so those naysayers are full of BS.

Running the lid under hot water from the tap causes the metal lid to expand and thus loosen — easy off!

Oh for heaven’s sake—a ridiculous interpretation of my post.

Just one qualifying word about the children, such as “many” or “most” would have made my post unnecessary.

“1 the above (the good wife’s guide) article is in very poor taste.”

Actually, ma’am, I thought the article to very…profound…and to those with a sense of humor, funny. Now excuse me, my wife told me to take the leaves out for recycling.

These studies look at average outcomes of large numbers of children. A small number of individuals raised by single parents will turn out great, a small number raised in intact families will turn out horrible, the average outcome of the single parent group is lower than the average outcome of the intact family group.

I came from a single parent home... I won’t give details, but I will vouch for the accuracy of the studies. I wish with all my heart that I could have grown up in a normal 2 parent family.

Some Freeper was mentioning that very thing about that pic, how teen girls base their music on the performers looks such as Justin Beiber. The music is horrible and they don’t care. And when these girl grow up they use that same type of mentality when it comes to politics which is why in just about every single Presidential election since 1920, the better looking Presidential candidate has always won. It’s true, I studied each POTUS campaign all the way back to 1920 and that’s exactly the case. Since 1920 our whole POTUS elections have been based on who is the prettiest. And we wonder why this country is in a mess. Just think: If only Romney got rid of his gray sideburns he could have won. LOL

Well, you'll have to forgive me, then. Some of us aren't so good at insight into the deep layers of someone else's mind, so we have to go by just the words we see on the screen.

When asked what will prevent a total breakdown of society into male versus female, when women have children without men, the answer was: mothers of sons.
Maternal protection would lead many mothers of sons to protect them and put other women in their place.
A recent case of this was a woman whose son was accused of rape by a girl at an Ivy league school. No criminal charges, just her words, him denied legal representation, not allowed to present text messages and emails from her that showed they were still talking and breaking up after the so called rape. Only when she threatened to sue did it break down, but getting expelled from college hurts your educational path.

Sorry, but I think your analysis breaks down along the same lines as it does currently.

Women who have sons and are able to raise them (very, very difficult without a together man) will not be the single parent families (read: unwed mothers) who raise sons to be the men they desire (and the boys rebel against) because they cannot bear something that has to be built. Similarly, the demonic ones who are controlled by drugs, lust or unknown factors and follow their desires versus sacrificing for the next generation. Remember, most of today's self-serving fools think that abortion today will provide the family you love tomorrow.

These behaviors have given us the social disintegration we have now. Expecting better from the same process offers little hope.

There is an old saying, You ruined your kids and spoil your grand kids.

I adopted my grandfathers method, have expectations, be history, and help them meet expectations, Support the parents.

My granddaughter forgot her home work at school, yeah, the kid marched her to the car and they went in and got it, proud of the boy.
