Will George Zimmerman be the next Adam Lanza? (See where they're headed?)
allvoices ^ | November 28, 2013 | Chelsea Hoffman

Posted on 11/28/2013 7:08:41 PM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

When George Zimmerman was arrested for domestic violence recently, police retrieved at least five guns and 100 rounds of ammunition. Among the guns was an AR-15, the same style of weapon used by Adam Lanza when he walked into Sandy Hook Elementary School and murdered 20 little children. Naturally there are many people wondering why Zimmerman needs that many guns -- and the words of both exes in his life seem to indicate that he is a ticking timebomb.

Zimmerman has been barred from having guns while awaiting trial regarding the domestic violence charges, but that doesn't mean he won't get them back, and it doesn't mean that he has relinquished all of his weapons. Shellie Zimmerman herself has compared her estranged husband to a "lion pacing in a cage" and that she doesn't know what he is capable of -- but I think we all know what he is capable of, and the loved ones of Trayvon Martin know better than anybody.

At least two people in his life believe that he has it in him to just "snap," so it's not hard to speculate the possibilities. Could George Zimmerman have been on his way to snapping in a grand way with all of that ammunition and firepower? One thing is for certain: It's fortunate that he no longer has this particular weaponry.

It appears that George’s biggest problem is he chooses unwisely with women.

Very unfortunate.

Hope he gets through this and takes the good advice of many here. Find nice quiet little town away from the cities and just be quiet for a while.

Find a place so isolated he won’t even be noticed. There are still places like that. Where I live is a good example. Know some more isolated in AR.

If he is still a Dem, I don’t have as much sympathy for him.

If so he is a very slow learner.

“If they’re getting worked up over five guns and 100 rounds of ammunition, the libtards would go batshit crazy over my stash.”

That's what I was thinking about mine. The libs get upset if there is more than one weapon at a house. They don't like one, but more than one causing them to have a racing heart. Since one of mine is PINK, maybe that one won't upset them. I don't think they know color doesn't matter.

Did Lanza use an AR-15?

Actually no, but he was rumored to have one in the car IIRC.

And he needs a hell of a lot more ammo. 100 rounds? That’s ten minutes at the range.

“According to the search warrant, Zimmerman talked with deputies after he was taken into custody. He told them that he and Scheibe had lived together since Aug. 23 and that they had agreed to separate earlier during the day he was arrested.

Zimmerman said his plan was to move to Texas, according to the warrant.

He told deputies that, as he was packing, Scheibe began to throw his belongings around the house, including two of his guns, the shotgun and one of the handguns.”

He used a Bushmaster AR-15. A Saiga shotgun was found in his trunk. The kid was nutz and would found some other way to vent his rage if he did not have weapons.

Zimmerman does not seem that bright to me. If he does get out of his current legal mess, he needs to move out of state.

When George Zimmerman was arrested for domestic violence recently, police retrieved at least five guns and 100 rounds of ammunition.

Yawn. Counting what's on or beside my nightstand and my wife's there are that many weapons and probably 3x that number of rounds in my bedroom. Somehow she has acquired more handguns than me...when/how did that happen? Hmm...

Among the guns was an AR-15, the same style of weapon used by Adam Lanza when he walked into Sandy Hook Elementary School and murdered 20 little children.

He didn't just "walk into" the school, he apparently shot his way through a large window. Mentioning Sandy Hook is a clumsily obvious attempt to set an emotional tone. I would expect better of someone who considers themselves a professional writer. George, or anyone for that matter, having an AR-15 is not surprising at all. In fact, I would expect it. The AR-15 rifle style is the single most popular style in America. That's like saying so-and-so had a Ford pickup. Duh, best selling truck for years... AR-15 style, best selling for years... No news there.

Naturally there are many people wondering why Zimmerman needs that many guns...

That many... The implication 5 is a lot. For a firearms enthusiast or someone that takes self defense seriously (and GZ had better take self defense seriously, there are a lot of people that want see him come to harm) that is not a lot of weapons.

Then there's that word again, "need." Why do you "need" that many firearms? Or why do you "need" that many rounds? Or why do you "need" that particular feature or another? Why do you "need" a firearm at all? And on and on. Gee, in looking at the Bill of Rights I don't see anything in there that says anything even remotely resembling a statement that these rights are based on a demonstrated or perceived "need." Anytime you want to ask a "need" question related to firearms and the 2nd Amendment, ask it in terms of the 1st Amendment first. Why do you need an email address, Twitter account, facebook page, YouTube ID...? Hey, why do you need that many friends on Facebook? Why do you need a smartphone? Only licensed professional journalists should be able to publish to multiple people... etc. etc. Sounds silly? Just as idiotic when applied to the 2nd.

5 weapons? It is not hard to acquire 5 weapons before you know it. Maybe you have a shotgun (a-la Job Biden's advice). 'cause few things say "get out" to an intruder in a dark house like the sound of a 12 ga pump. Maybe you pick up an AR-15 because they're fun to shoot, not much recoil, infinitely customizable. (gee, probably why they're so popular) Then you get a 9mm because that's practically a requirement these days, everyone seems to have a 9mm of some kind. But hey, ammo is relatively cheap and common. (relatively) Then you buy into the hype that only something that starts with a 4 will do, so you pick up a .40 or a .45 because hey, we are serious about saving our necks... Then maybe you decide you need a reliable wheel gun for the car, just in case... All of a sudden you find you've got 5 different weapons, 5 different calibers, you've created your own logistics problem for stocking ammo and cleaning gear...and you're looking at your wife and saying "when did we buy the .380?"...

-- and the words of both exes in his life seem to indicate that he is a ticking timebomb.

And of course all divorces are amicable and there's no reason to believe she'd have an axe to grind or any reason to make him look bad...{snort}

Zimmerman has been barred from having guns while awaiting trial regarding the domestic violence charges...

Which sounds sensible on one hand, and stupid (striping someone of their rights and defenses before they're even convicted of anything) on the other.

...but that doesn't mean he won't get them back, and it doesn't mean that he has relinquished all of his weapons.

Good, if he is innocent, he should get them back without delay. I'm still not convinced someone should be deprived of property and rights and the means to defend themselves based on charges alone, without a conviction.

Shellie Zimmerman herself has compared her estranged husband to a "lion pacing in a cage" and that she doesn't know what he is capable of...

Under the circumstances I probably would be too. Who wouldn't be a little tense?

...but I think we all know what he is capable of, and the loved ones of Trayvon Martin know better than anybody...

You want to go there? Fine. Yes, he is cable of making the tough decision to kill in order to save his own life. So yeah, he's a cold hearted SOB, but he's alive and a punk-a** thug is dead. Happy ending if you ask me.

At least two people in his life believe that he has it in him to just "snap," so it's not hard to speculate the possibilities.

And of course you're just going to run off and speculate away. Only in legal terms what might be doesn't count for squat. Only what is real, what has happened, and what you can prove.

Could George Zimmerman have been on his way to snapping in a grand way with all of that ammunition and firepower?

All that ammunition? LOL, literally L.O.L. 100 rounds is nothing. I've misplaced more than that. 100 rounds is not even one day at the range.

One thing is for certain: It's fortunate that he no longer has this particular weaponry.

No, it isn't. It is a tragedy that events in his life have led to this kind of conflict and involved police and lawyers. Believe it or not, police and lawyers are not the norm in peoples' lives. His life is screwed up, he's in pain, and his estranged wife and legal system have combined to deprive him of property, rights, and a means to defend himself. Happy about that? What if it were happening to you or a good friend of yours. (yes, it has happened to good friends of mine)

100 rounds is not even one day at the range. ......................... You can put 3-4 boxes of 22lr in one pants pocket, and that’s 200 rounds. It doesn’t matter how many rounds, as far as the MSM goes, all that maters is, its George Zimmerman. It could be only 5 rounds and it would still be the lead story.
