The simple fact is people like her are a drain on the system and r not worth keeping alive. That is the truth. The cold hard truth. People won’t want to hear it or accept it. It is only a matter of time before it happens to you or me or someone I love or you love. But it won’t happen to the elite, like Sen. Coburn who is now on his 3rd cancer treatment. I do wish him well.
The simple fact is people like her are a drain on the system and r not worth keeping alive.

You are right - this is Ezekiel Emanuel’s complete lives system.
Cost is not the only consideration:
The reason we want to keep our own policies and to keep our own doctors is so that we have control over which doctors we can see. (out of network care)
With Obamacare there is no option for doctors other than what is listed.
She is alive today because she was able to go to the doctors she chose. People need to have faith in the doctors they choose, which adds to the success rate of the treatment.
Your comments certainly apply to a single payer, socialist style of insurance where the government decides which individuals are not worth keeping alive.
Self insured pools have operated successfully for over a hundred years by setting rates across a broad pool of paying insureds at a level that covers catastrophic illness for the less than 1 percent that ever have those type of illnesses.
You can't have a system like this that covers those that can't pay premiums.
This is why in socialist style insurance, the government must make the determination who is not “worth” keeping alive with expensive treatments.
