Very interesting series of photos from the security camera make for a choppy video. What is clear is that the robber has virtually no tactical sense, no backup, little situational awareness, and focuses on the money.
If anyone there had a firearm and felt threatened, this guy would have been done. Notice that in the last two or three images, he has his hand off the pistol grip, muzzle pointed away from anyone, and eyes focused on the money.
The video is grainy enough that I cannot be sure if what he is holding is a real AR-15 type clone or a facsimile. Given that he has very little muzzle discipline, I suspect that it is a facsimile.
I cannot but wonder, given that this happened in Florida, that this fellow does not have a long career ahead of him.

CCW. 3 in the chest, 1 in the head-hoodie. Employee gets another job.
I can’t help but continue to think that Florida’s problem is it’s never graduated from the old “penal colony” mentality. I’ve lived here for 30 years and never came across people this stupid but are continuously aware that they exist.
Probably wearing a tray-boyz signature hoodie with built in pockets for ballistic plates so he wasn’t scurred of anybody popping him. Air soft with the orange tip removed?
If you have a Twitter account you must follow “Florida Man”. Actual news stories of Floridian idiot criminals. One of the examples, “Florida Man Arrested For Trying to Asphyxiate Police Dog...Again”
If I’d been there I think I would have shot him. Once he demanded money it’s armed robbery. Armed robbery is a forcible felony and you, as a CWFL holder, have the right to shoot him to stop it. You also know he is a violent felon in your vicinity with an assault rifle. It would be entirely reasonable to fear for your life even though he has made no direct threat to you. No 3 to the chest and 1 to the head nonsense. I keep shooting COM until he drops the rifle or drops to the ground and stops moving if he doesn’t drop the rifle.
One shot, one kill. Spray and pray is a good way to hit innocents.
IINM, it’s becomes a legal problem to continue shooting someone when they’re already on the ground, shot. I have no problem reloading and emptying 2-3 mags of .230gr .45cal ACPs into the POS. I think the DA and Grand Jury frown on that, though.
I can’t find any links to the law/statute, however.
Of course, if he’s propped against the rail across from the counter, keep shooting! LOL.
Mr Kimber would have dropped him in one shot.
Is your wife an attorney, are you wealthy or did you wake up wanting to kill someone.
Remember Zimmerman. He had to go to court to prove that his side of the story was true. How much were his lawyers costs?
Don’t play the hero unless you can afford the costs.
Most robbers like this leave no witnesses.
Keep shooting until you are out of ammunition, or the threat is definitively neutralized.
“Is your wife an attorney, are you wealthy or did you wake up wanting to kill someone.”
No. Not hurting. Don’t want to kill anyone.
Zimmerman killed Martin in the dark with no witnesses. Sanford DA based on the police investigation rightly decided not to prosecute Zimmerman. It wasn’t until the race hustlers, and their pal in the White House, became involved that he was prosecuted for political motives.
An open Burger King will have witnesses and surveillance video. Depending on the jurisdiction you probably won’t even be charged.
“IINM, its becomes a legal problem to continue shooting someone when theyre already on the ground, shot.”
If he’s still moving and still has a rifle I keep shooting. You shoot UNTIL the threat is ended.
Statutes:
No one said anything about “spray and pray”. I’m a good shot and usually hit what I’m aiming at. Rarely does one bullet stop someone committing mayhem. It may ultimately be fatal but usually the BG will continue functioning for several to many minutes. Even in the most effective caliber/round combinations multiple shots are usually needed to stop someone committing a crime or trying to kill you.
A shot between the head lights and the grid is shut down.
Sometimes the car moves.
Keep shooting until the vehicle comes to a complete rest.
What happens then when you are empty and another car comes along from another angle? Ooops.
You ALWAYS carry spare cans of gasoline!
PA’s HB 40 is similar; you’re correct.
