The Best kind of “radiation” treatment is Proton treatment. My husband is a 4 1/2 year survivor of Non small cell inoperable lung cancer. Proton treatment is not just regular radiation by another name like cyber knife etc. It is NOT equal in any way. Sometimes they treat non small cell, but it depends on the stage etc. MD Anderson has an on site Proton treatment facility, but we used http://www.floridaproton.org/. There were only 6 proton treatment centers in the US when he had his treatments. There may be a few more now, but they are not all equal either. Contact them. Thanks so much for the information. Our son has small cell cancer, so proton therapy may not be one of the recipes, but we will look into it to be sure.
