That is quite a cop out. If you think you can elect Conservatives without getting their names on a ballot or by not being concerned with a split vote, you are in for a sad awakening. You would have exactly the same problem with poor screening and vetting of Conservative candidates. That would be even more difficult for a new Conservative Party without a party convention to establish a platform including individual planks and identification of those that must be set in stone.

Any New Conservative Party will face an identity problem because there have been and are still several conservative parties. The American Conservative Party is currently active in a few states. You might keep in mind that the Libertarian Party, often accused of splitting GOP votes, was founded forty two years ago but has never held a single national office.
