when she runs for President, we should have posters made up of all the vile, filthy mouthed things she has said to people...Starting with this list.

Oh, I have been woken up, believe me. I wasn’t born til ‘67, but everything I have ever read about Goldwater tells me that he is definitely someone we need now. I understand the primaries in ‘76 (Ford/ Reagan) were pretty divisive.
I wish there were enough folks to start a 3rd party to make it a factor quickly, because there no conservative parties out there big enough to mount a serious challenge..

Why not Sarah?

Because Sarah has integrity.

I think Palin will mix it up with the women’s vote. And Palin will TROUNCE Hillary with men.

Again. I completely understand.

But we are ALREADY conservatives and fans of Mrs. Palin. (IMHO, Todd is the LUCKYEST man on earth)

To go to bed every night with a woman who could'va been Miss America and is and outdoorsy gal!!!

Oooooooooh!!! only in my dreams!!!

But back to reality.

Not many politicians get a second bite at the "apple", i.e, running for the presidency and fewer still, actually successful.

The only pols in (my) living memory were Nixon and Reagan.

Both were long shots at best and "jokes" among the "in crowd." But they were respected by the "hoi polloi".

The liberal elite hated Nixon but knew he was no "lightweight" and quite an intelligent politician, especially in international affairs.

Reagan was despited by the elite, was mocked as an lightweight intellectually but had the ideas favored by the tides of History. It didn't hurt he had the personality people found agreeable.

Palin is certainly hatred by the elite and fairly or unfairly seen as an "leightweight"

But are tides of History in her favor, per Reagan? And can she win over the working class?

We can certainly hope so.

Compared with Sarah, she's a flea.

I couldn't agree more.

If Sarah Palin were elected President, she'd create a legacy as lasting and important as the finest Presidents in our nation's history. She's made of exactly the same kind of stuff as they were.

Hillary? She doesn't even qualify as a third rate back bencher in the world of politics. She's accomplished nothing of note in her unworthy political career. Every position she's held, she got because she's married to slime dog Bubba.

She's also got a likeability factor which approaches absolute zero.

...post election polling indicated women, paricularly suburban women, voted against McCain/Palin specifically be cause he had Palin on the ticket.

This is the atmosphere Palin will have to run...

That was the atmosphere Palin ran in, in 2008. The dynamics of this country will be far different in 2016, after eight years of unrelenting leftist destruction from the top.

I seriously believe the nation will be MORE than ready to hand the reins back to the Republicans by then. In fact, I think most will be begging for it.

And Palin is absolutely the very best pitcher on our roster - bar none. I believe she'll change the minds of countless fence-sitters and low info Republicans by then.

IF she runs. Let us pray that she does. She may be our last shot to turn this mess around before the whole thing falls apart.

The GOPe will NEVER allow it. In fact, if they even get a whiff of her going near the nom, it will be THEM who plant to rumors, false narratives, etc- not the democrats.

post election polling indicated women, paricularly suburban women, voted against McCain/Palin specifically be cause he had Palin on the ticket.

I believe that is incorrect, the polls actually showed that she helped McCain, and did not hurt him. What you are citing is how McCain's losing election strategists tried to spin the loss.

Yeah, I've got the same text saved, but I dig the neat background and the way you framed it. Nice.

IIRC, post election polling indicated women, paricularly suburban women, voted against McCain/Palin specifically be cause he had Palin on the ticket.

Lakeshark already indicated upthread that it was McCain's saboteur campaign advisers who cooked up that lie to smear Sarah after their loss.

Even more relevant to your comment above, is the result of a poll that was taken the day after Romney's loss to Obama in 2012.

The poll asked, "Now that Romney has lost the election, who do you consider to be the leader of the Republican party?"

Take a wild guess at who ran away with that poll.

Sorry, I think I’ve been too well trained in that regard.

Oh well.

I believe you are refering to the post-convention polls which indeed did help McCain as he was flandering in the polls.

The ever-so-helpful media started in on Palin and by election day she was a drag onm the ticket.

Of course in the prePalin days the “conventional “wisdom was vice presidentail candidates don’t affect the ticket...

.In fairness to both myself and Lakeshark, neither of us offered difinitive proof of either arguement.

Just our individual recollections...

The dynamics of this country will be far different in 2016, after eight years of unrelenting leftist destruction from the top.

I thought after four years of "Obamics"that the country was fed up but I was wrong.

Hopefully by 2016 they will have had enough of the Sh#tsandwiches "O" and his witch queen has been serving iand indeed ready for something better like Palin.

But sometimes the country isn't ready for leader like her..

The country wasn't ready for Reagan in 1976..
