Short of an economic debacle in this country, nothing will likely happen to Obama. Now if the economy seriously falters (e.g., we fall back into a nasty rececession) then he’s got a real problem on his hands. The sad truth is that very few people really understand or care about these scandals, but most do care about their personal comfort and well being. This is one reason why the goverment’s economic propaganda is so massaged. They have to keep the illusion of prosperity alive or the masses will get restless.
Even then I think Obama will be safe. He'd blame the recession on uncooperative House Republicans, and people would believe it.
