Not in any of the popular calibers. Reloading supplies are also scarce, especially powder.
yes last gun show had plenty at least on the first day prices are still high but not gouging levels..
Our local shop has had 7.62x39 for awhile now; same with .223 and 5.56. 9mm and .22 are a bit hard to find still. .40 is seeming to come back in.
I just got the email today that a case of 7.62x39, I've been waiting months from an online retailer for, shipped today.....at the per-ridiculous price. And I received a $10 off coupon of my next $99+ order.
Over the last two weeks, I've been watching another ammo site and they actually have 7.62 and some other calibers in stock at pretty phenomenal prices.
I think it depends on where and "who." As the article mentioned they've (that particular shop) been in business a long time and pay the bills.
My two cents is those with well established connections are getting it first.....of course sportsmansguide, walmart, cabellas etc and then on down to the mom-n-pop that have been with the crowd for a log time with good personal relationships and know where to look.
As an anecdotal corollary, awhile back I had ordered a rifle accessory online. About a week and a half went by and I hadn't heard anything. I contacted the site and it was actually the owner that was manning the phones. They had been overwhelmed with orders and the site didn't update quick enough when they were out of stock. But, I wasn't to worry because his store was 45 miles from the factory that just so happened to be owned by his best friend. The site I ordered from would have their order filled before anyone else (and cheaper). Lo and behold my order shipped about three days later; the site was updated to "in stock" and the other sites were still out. I know of similar instances with other retailers and rifles.
I don't know, but I'd say that's probably happening in the ammo world too.
As other posters have mentioned the 2008/09 shortage took awhile to sort out too.
I saw 380s at Walmart today. They also had several Colt 5.56 and Sig .308 AR-15s for sale.
And me on a pensioner’s pay.
So, that means it is chump change to you, then?
I found a lot more ammo (especially hunting ammunition than what I find in Orange County CA but still no 9 mm or 22LR.

I could have bought three of them if I had not spent my RETIREMENT LOOT on two hearing aids instead.
Hard to believe that a little thing like hearing aids cost MORE than their weight in GOLD.
I had to see the eye Dr. today so I stopped by the nearby Wal-Mart Super Center. My eyes had been dilated and I could not see well but I did notice a couple of interesting things.
First of all, they were nearly out of ammo again. That particular Wal-Mart had been steadily replenishing their stock of ammo so that surprised me.
The really big thing was a bunch and I mean six or seven various AR style rifles. There were a bunch of people in front of me and I could not see well either so I don’t know what brands but that is the first time in a very long time that I have seen more than a single AR.
They actually had so many guns that they had many more than they had places for them. Quite a few between guns in their cutouts. Maybe they were just making a statement that they had plenty of guns.
Nope but I just got the timing right and scored some .38spl practice ammo at Bass Pro.
You didn't happen to notice if they had any 7.62 X 25mm Tokarev in stock? Their website no longer lists any.
Sorry, I did not check.
You might want to call them up and check. They had 357 magnum in stock but was not listed on their website.
There seems to be a lot of gun shops in Prescott. Walmart and J & G were the only places I looked.
