The military is frequently a career decision and/or a patriotic decision and a commitment. I think most soldiers said to themselves “there aren’t enough rump rangers to be an issue for me AND if one gets near me I’ll punch him into next week.”

Such is not the same for the scouts. All smart parents will worry about their kid being thrown in with, essentially, the opposite sex on things like camping trips, showers, etc. even AFTER those with moral problems such as churches (MANY scout troupes are sponsored by churches) who will be basically forced to cut their support almost immediately.

The only reason this hasn’t already started is because of the delay and the hope (probably not to be) that there will be a reversal in the courts.

After it kicks in, expect 60-70% reduction — and probably a total collapse of BSA within a few years.

We can’t have nice things.

Probably more closer to 15 years, but that’s what happened in Canada, and we have the numbers to back it up.
