When quasi-celebrities attack: Jay Mohr blames Boston attack on the 2nd Amendment

Aging comedian/actor Jay Mohr managed to generate some publicity for himself on Monday by exploiting the Boston Marathon explosions to push his anti-Second Amendment agenda.

Mohr, who those from my generation might remember from Tom Cruise’s hit 1996 film Jerry Maguire, and younger readers might remember from absolutely nowhere, sent his first clueless tweet Monday night.

“What bothers me most about today is that we’re getting used 2 it. ENOUGH. 2nd amendment must go. Violence has 2 stop. Culture MUST change.”

When questioned on the connection between the Second Amendment and the Boston explosions, he just kept digging.

“The 2nd Amendment lends itself to the CULTURE of violence we are living in.”

Later, when he continued to be flooded with comments from gun owners taking him to task, he commented that he was “[a]mazed at [the] pro gun responses” and wondered “Where are u maniacs coming from?”

That’s right folks … to the elites in New York and Hollywood, your rights contribute to a culture of violence and you are ‘maniacs’ for daring to speak up when liberals call for your rights to be stripped away.

If his comments upset you as much as they did me then perhaps you might like to join me in contacting his employer. Mohr has a sports radio program on Fox Sports Radio called Jay Mohr Sports.

I am guessing that either of the following executives would love to hear from sports fans who are upset by Mohr’s words.

Dan Metter, Senior Vice President & Director of Talk Radio Sales

Email: dmetter@premiereradio.com

Telephone: (212) 445-3926

Craig Hawkesworth, Vice President of Interactive Sales

Email: chawkesworth@premiereradio.com

Telephone: (972) 455-6267

Let them know that it is probably not a good idea to keep someone on the payroll who considers more than half of their viewers to be violent ‘maniacs’.

The ignorance and arrogance of celebrities never ceases to amaze and sicken me. :(

Small man, tiny talent, really small mind. I caught part of his act once, toilet humor, very derogatory! To call him and others like him comedians is an insult to true comedians!

I liked his radio show, I am not a maniac and you are no longer on my dial.

Really on of the most idiotic thing I have heard in a while. Oh wait if I had heard his radio show or watched him on TV it would have been the second most idiotic thing.

I don’t know who this guy is, but it seems sports commentators are among the most PC. How anyone can draw a link between gun deaths and pressure cooker bombs is beyond me.

What has the chain of events in Boston to do with the Second Amendment?

There is a form of Tourette’s syndrome, apparently, that is exclusively fixated on reciting the obscenity that “guns are evil”.

Because no conscious thought goes into that reflexive vocal tic. It comes out at inappropriate times, and has little or no relationship with the topic at hand.

So he thinks the Second Amendment must go, well how special of him. He, tiny intelligence that he is, says it causes to much violence. Well what about the First Amendment Jay tiny brain? It can easily be argued that speech has been the precursor to most if not all violence. So let’s move on to number one, I’m sure you won’t mind if we restrict your rights under the First Amendment any more than you seem to mind trying to restrict my rights under the Second Amendment!

I honestly feel like New York and LA liberals have absolutely NO idea what real America is like.

sad thing is I am not a boycott kind of person. so I guess I’m not boycotting but I’m not gonna support him. I guess I’ll execise my other rights or when he finds them unappealing should they be taken away also.

I went to Rutgers and hung around with Jay Mohr's sister Julie.

She used to bring him around to our fraternity parties and we'd let him get drunk even though he was underaged.

He was a goofball, but not a bad kid. Unfortunately, he got fetal alcohol syndrome at 16.

It's my own damn fault really.

A nowhere man in nowhere land spouting off lunacy to nobody. If he dared to look deeper than the front page of the NYT he would find that black men comprise less than 3% of the population yet commit almost half of all violent crimes. Yet, they vote lock-step with the Rat party.

If you REALLY want to have some fun, and see Tourette's in all its glory, walk into a Starbuck's and yell at the top of your lungs...

"PRESIDENT BUSH!"

Of course it has nothing to do with violent movies and video games.

Well, guns are chemical weapons, like bombs, in that they ignite powder to propel bullets. Bombs are “arms,” technically speaking, though I doubt they’re legal.

Can't believe he wound up with her with his looks and dopey personality:

Also not sure if it was his idea while they were together or if she got the work done before they were dating and eventually married, but she really butchered her once pretty face.
