I was just thinking about that angle. 19 children were killed in the OKC bombing so whatever message McVeigh wanted to send was lost to all with more than one brain cell. Boston bombing would have to have been done by a group who didn't care what message was sent and is pre insulated to public criticism by the MSM. Only one group come to mind.
