Maybe you're right, what I was thinking though was the portion where he talks about making it impossible for them to people to be able to process truth/reality -- the truth is:
There are an estimated 270 million total guns in the US's civilian population, an average of 89 firearms for every 100 residents -- that average is rather a useless metric because many gun owners own multiple guns -- Ted Nugent would skew the average of his city all by himself. So, given such hugely lopsided odds it certainly is possible to do something about it.So we have to jump off a little bit, let's assume there's 10% of the population armed (that's ~30 Million), now let's say that only half of that will have any will to resist (~15 million) -- there are 675,734 Law Enforcement officers [source, add in the full force of the US Armed forces 1,429,995 [wikipedia] and we have 15,000,000 : 2,105,729 or approximately 15:2 odds.
Now that makes some admittedly bad assumptions -- (1) that more population wouldn't get involved when personal losses hit, (2) that all Law Enforcement Officers would comply, and (3) that all the Armed Forces would comply. If we assume a 50/50 split that becomes a 16:1 odds against the government.
>>>So, given such hugely lopsided odds it certainly is possible to do something about it.
Would it be bloody? Yes.
Would it be uncomfortable? Yes.
Would it be tragic? Yes.
Would it be useless? Only if we are not fighting on God’s side, but why would God side with those lawless people who want to murder and destroy the freedom of the people — is not God on the side of the oppressed??<<<
I’m not into Bezmenov theory to start with. IMHO, his idea was to sell a story high. As a talented agitprop specialist he reached deep into souls of audience.
Russians has similar conspiracy theory on US project to subvert them known as “Dulles plan”. If they are right it worked on them earlier and better than their own plan for US.
I don’t think there were actual programs to practically takeover each over in either USSR and US. Both KGB and CIA could prop some decadent forces but it couldn’t make that much.
Bezmenov actually mentions features of decomposing societies. Foreign involvement may boost it or not but it is all still features of natural demoralization.
You are also assuming that all of those gun owners would be fighting on your side. All civil wars have their loyalists. And don’t forget, the last time there was a massive uprising against the feds 150 years ago, the rebels got crushed.
