Here’s the story: a patient (who doesn’t want to be named) was at a VA hospital for a colonoscopy — not a routine one, but because of a problem that could be serious. As he tells it:
9 am in or prep room IV and muscle relaxant … given- they’ll give me heavier dose of something before they go in. Sat there near an hour when lady walks in “Govt Shut down. If you’re not in, they’re out.” that was it. Went to patient advocate she had been sent home almost as soon as she arrived I’m guessing to head off volume of complaints...."

I have no knowledge of how to go about this. But, we need to pull together, find a way to support those vets whom the government kicks in the teeth.
The lesson the bureaucrats think they are imparting is to give them the money they demand or they will punish you. However, the real lesson they are imparting is to never rely on the gov’t for anything.
I’m sick of the moochers.
They should be the first ones “disenfranchised”.
They are going to cut the few areas of government that shouldn’t be cut such as the military, and set the stage for people to demand they do whatever is necessary to help our veterans and troops. By doing this, they will get away with expanding government yet again.
While there are some areas of the military that can and should be cut, veterans benefits, combat readiness training, and routine ship maintenance should not be options.
Funny how liberals don’t care about spending but they suddenly care about spending. This is designed to smear Republicans leading up to the 2014 election so the Dems can take the House, which they’ll probably STEAL anyway.

The same thing happened at the DMV a while back when the government union workers weren't happy about something. They sat around doing cross word puzzles while an old lady stood and waited for almost an hour.
Government union workers are going to start torturing people because of this. They'll be having temper tantrums everywhere. This is a union thug thing.
If you run into a problem with a government union member, call a representative you think will do something about it. If you have only democrats politicians in your area, alert the media. Drudge may also help you if you have a story - like this one.
This has nothing to do with cuts. It has to do with the union.
We the People are not an abused wife asking “please don’t hit me again”.
We should counteract anything unreasonable thy do.

They call welfare, Section 8 and food stamps “entitlement” programs, but if veterans rather than able-bodied twenty-somethings aren’t “entitled” to help who in the world is?
At least a source. Not just a rumor or hearsay.
Veteran’s benefits in general are under the VA, not the Department of Defense.
But, if the regime won't do it, then we take each story, each person, find out all we can, and Donate!
There is more than one way to skin a cat.
These stories are intended to make us cave.
We harden our hearts for the cause, or we form a .org to help.

I can’t believe that this is a “true” story. This seems just like something the “regime” would cook up and spread far and wide to further the fake outrage of these tiny “budget cuts.”
While I put NOTHING past the commies in the “Obama” administration, I am certain they will create unnecessary fake scenes like this, so they can pretend the “Republicans” are doing the hurting that they themselves are doing.
No. Our government is more like a down and out junkie craving his next “fix.”

If so, it'll backfire - big time. The vets are denied medical care while moochelle walks around like Imelda Marcos and Oboma flies off to the Bahamas for a weeks worth of golfing?
If the left wants to push this one, the Obomas had better never have another glamorous party for their Hollywood friends, their kids, or fly off to some island resort for a nice, relaxing break from all that wealth in Washington.
We'll be watching, very closely, what the Obomas are spending on themselves, and how many vets that money would have saved.

The VA’s budget is a seperate entity that is on a 2 year cycle. Their budget is not connected to the budget of the Department of Defense.
It matters to validate the source, but considering the intimidation and danger in releasing the criminal aliens, lies about layoffs, threats about security, lack of resources for mil ops, etc., this potential story is but one of many examples of the tyranny we’re suffering.
Imagine how the other party might handle such an untruth. If it served their purpose, the Democrats would legitimize this story dismissing fabrication and deceit — they’d describe it as an essential narrative that points to the horrific abuses inflicted by the opposing party.
I know, we’re not them.

If, however, this is true, it should be immediately referred to the State Board of Medical Examiners as well as filing a complaint with HCFA. The patient should also file a complaint at the hospital and ask for morbidity/mortality review committee to review the propriety of this decision to cancel.
That said, I feel like there is more to this than is being reported.
This doesn’t ring true, I understand the patient wanting to keep his name out of it but where was this? Seems more likely appointments would be canceled ahead of time if care cannot be provided. As far as I know Veteran’s Hospital medical personnel are not subject to furlough, and most VA related things are exempt...though military hospitals and personnel (civilian doctors, nurses, etc.) are subject to sequestration/furloughs.
I know our dear Veterans are being shafted. It is sickening to the depths of our souls.
This evil group of enemies of America that is ruling our country is only just getting warmed up, and it’s unlikely that they will be exposed, because the entire “mainstream information” media is flooding the country with its lies from Hell.

IIRC, there aren’t civilian doctors and nurses at military hospitals, but it’s been a long time since I was in one.
I doubt it. The VA is/was not effected by the sequester. By law, their funding comes 3 years in advance to ensure they aren’t caught up in wild budget fluctuations. This is either someone’s wild fantasy, or an internet hoax. BTW, I’m a vet and I’m very happy with the care they have given me.

Oh yes there are many civilian doctors and nurses, etc. at military hospitals now; my husband goes to a military hospital for treatment regularly and my oldest daughter is a civilian nurse working for DOD in an Army medical clinic. What most people don’t realize is with the volunteer military many jobs the military used to do themselves are now done by civilian DOD personnel or contractors.

Isn’t it a simpler explanation this actually happened, and it is being blamed on the sequester? They are releasing THOUSANDS of jailed illegal aliens, turning ships back to port etc, and people wonder if they would do this?

The V.A. is NOT government “assistance.” It is earned.
While i am of the belief that VA healthcare should be treated more like an insurance the fact is that its an earned benefit vets receive through sacrifice..he shouldnt have to wait because freeloaders in Chicago receive precedence for being too lazy to work.
But as others have said this doesnt smell kosher.
but from what I hear of the VA...its hit and miss when you get in ...my bil's both on VA have been waiting weeks to find out when their surgeries will be done....and then, when the date is set, they better be sure they keep the appts because the next time will be a much longer wait...
If he’s like me, he uses the VA system because he doesn’t have private medical insurance or $950.
