Not in NY. I have a friend on food stamps, I’ve written about her before. She lives in one room with no cooking facilities. She cannot even make herself a cup of coffee. In NY you cannot buy any hot food with good stamps.
I mean from the grocery store. We couldn’t go to Burger King, but we could buy lobster, I think. We never tried.
Does the room allow cooking? I know I used to cook on a hot plate while travelling, that saved me a lot of money and frustration. Might that be an option for her?
