Look Louie I’m gone! RIP Huell
Hate to hear of his passing
Remember him on Nashville channel 5 where
he got his start I guess
Hope they have something on about his passing tonight
Hate to hear he was homo tho..
Loved his show but stay away from some of the eating establishments he visited. They weren’t that good.
During the LA riots, I remember seeing footage of him and some of his neighbors confronting looters at a local supermarket and stopping them from looting the place.
He was a good guy.
I see reagandemocrat will RIP as he just got zotted by Jim.
Always enjoyed his shows........
Sad news. I lived most of my life in Southern California, but I wasn’t raised there. I learned more about the history of California and places all over the state from him than any other source. He seemed like a genuinely nice guy, too.
I liked the shows, but his voice made my skin crawl,,,
So long dude.
Sad to hear...I always loved “California’s Gold.” He had such an upbeat and happy attitude with all the people he visited and chatted with. I learned a lot about my state (at least the way it used to be in the good ole days).
That's a good question. What does unnatural sexual perversion and sodomy have to do with anything? It's all normal now.
Especially in California.
lol
Yeah, zotted by Jim Thompson.
His show on Gills Onions in Oxnard, CA is a classic that should not be missed.
Thank you Huell for showing me the wonderful side of California.
And dont forget the museum of printing:
Don’t miss taking the most informative tour there. You will learn a lot.
OH how sad
RIP Huell
I just hear on KCAL news
He retired there been rumor that he may been in bad health KCET is mum about it

Oh, grow up.
It had nothing to do with this man’s career which the poster was admiring.
If you want to start a thread about the prevision of homosexuality, ping me.
Enjoyed his show. I didn’t know he was ill. RIP.
Yeah, he and his show were very entertaining. His resignation last November came as a surprise to many. He must have known he was ill. RIP.
You know, I’ve been Semmens’d so often that, after a couple of glasses of wine, I’m wondering if reagandemocrat planted this as a booby trap.
I’m now not certain that Jim would’ve zotted him over something so trivial.
After Semmens, who knows what evil people lurks in posters at FR?

Please ping me with any Southern California related articles. Thank you!
If you want on or off this ping list, please FReepmail me.
Gotcha!
“How about that!”
Huell Howser was a Marine.
I don’t give a crap if he was gay or not, he had a darn good show.
RIP, Sir!
I don’t think so. It is what he posted on his profile. Anyone can do that. He has not been zotted and he won’t be.
Sad news. Huell made for good television.
Well for one thing his choice most likely caused his death he had aids
I LOVE California’s Gold. Heard this on John & Ken’s show when I came home. So sorry...he was only 67.
“Howser was born Oct. 18, 1945, in Gallatin, Tenn., near Nashville. His father, Harold, was a lawyer, and his mother, Jewel was a homemaker. “Huell” is a combination of both their names.”

THAT’S where I remember the name from. That was a long time ago. The wife says he was on channel 4 with Dan Miller and Pat Sajak.
So sad.
I think John Semmens is pretty funny. :)
After Dr George Fishbeck and Christine Lund left the SoCal airwaves, I tuned out.
Thanks for the memories...”cutoff low, weatherman’s woe.”
I will really miss him. The state of California is suddenly a whole lot less “golden” without him. He had a wonderful way of inviting us to wake up to the interesting and beautiful things around us and I loved his attitude of gratitude. He seemed to find people genuinely interesting and saw the humor and nobility in everyday stuff. One of my favorite episodes is the one where he visited a Pasadena post office where a lady had been bringing roses to the staff for decades. All the employees and post office patrons left the post office every day with a smile on their faces and the roses were beautiful.
We were in SoCal for 19 years. So sorry to hear of his passing. Favorite California’s Gold? Three that come to mind are the Monarchs that come to the Pismo Beach area every year. We have always wanted to go see them and someday may get there. Loved the one on the Fresnel Lens that was found and refurbished. I am the proud owner of a miniature Fresnel Lens, thanks for piquing our interest in them Huell! And another one was the sculpted trees. I know I will have to look up again where those are. So sad that Huell is no longer with us. His charm and enthusiasm for the obscure in our (former)) state enhanced our viewing for years!
You didn’t read my ‘mea culpa’. I got Semmends’d by a low-life such as reagandemocrat.
No sh!t! Hat off to you.
Huell was great. Learned a lot about California from his show. He was a positive and enthusiatic voice in a cynical world. In a way, he was a real rebel.
Ya Lancey...no kinky BS going on in PA, right Lancey?
More burped up cowflop comments from the east coast...
Hey, we have Jerry Sandusky... You want him?
He’d be just another regular guy in, say, San Fransicko.
Oh ya mean the sick deviate where half the Pennsylvania population came out in support of him?
Yeah, I remember all that...Sick stuff...
LOL! Now you have to lie?
What, did you have a fight with your boyfriend?
Chin up! Things will be better in the morning.
Ya mean there was not wide spread support in PA for the deviates enablers?
Lets hear it Howard.
Very sad. I’ll miss Huell Howser’s Tennessee twang.
He was one of the few bright spots in California media.
Calm down. Have another glass of wine.
