Skip to comments. Is Romney Right To Say The 47% Are Counting On Obama?

If I recall in the context of the conversation, he(Romney) was saying he wasn’t going to spend his time and resources trying to win over this 47% who pay no taxes as they will not vote for him no matter what.
HOLY MULTI POSTS BATMAN!!
I hope K Rove and the RNC do not see this clip or they will be all over Mitt to stop down.
I have (long ago) been on food stamps. I have (less long ago) availed myself of a food distribution program. I have (very recently) gotten state subsidies for medical needs for a child of mine. So am I in the 47%?
If I am, I am still not voting for Obama. . .
Romney is correct. Ther 47% who pay no taxes and depend upon the government for everything are nothing more than GOVERNMENT PETS.
The question is... Can current college students figure out that they are on the paying side and not the receiving side?
Sure they may receive a few pennies from govt while they are in college, but in 5 years, when they are gainfully employed using their college degree for earning power, they will be paying through the nose to support the government through their taxes.
In ten years, they will make huge transfer payments in the form of massively high taxes.
So many Obama supporting college students are stabbing themselves in the back fiscally by voting for Obama. Are they smart enough to figure it out today, that they are only temporary recipients of government money, but are long term donators of their money?
I hope conservative student groups will help other students think about this. The future tax payers of America should not be voting for Obama.
Yeah, I don’t think he was talking about people like you. In fact, he obviously wasn’t. That’s why I created this graphic, to show there is a significant and growing class of people who are more than dependent on government to provide...they feel entitled to it.
That’s just the truth, even if Romney put it indelicately and sans nuance, it remains true.
