Whoever put this together doesn’t appear to have ever been here. Michigan winters are actually relatively mild depending on where you are (We’re a big state) due to the lakes. We have a short growing season if you want to grow coconuts but pretty much any other temperate region fruits and veggies do fine here in a normal year. Too much snow is also relative to where you are. In some parts of the state, several feet of snow is normal but in others 2 feet is a lot.
michigan pros: best lakes in the country, hardwood forests. mild, comfortable summers, low population in the north, low crime in the north, beautiful falls, inexpensive housing.
cons: tourist trade, long winters, cold winters, short on cultural activities.
texas pros: rodeos, music, reasonable housing prices, no salt damage to vehicles. canton! BBQ!
cons: spanish is practically first language.
