What happens in case like that is Texas would seize those assets. And most of the soldiers here would defend that decision. The US would face the decision of fighting or not.I do not believe the US would choose violence. Not only does Texas produce a lot of oil, an even larger percent that comes from overseas is refined right here.
When you choose secession, the laws of the country you are seceding from become annulled. All secessions, revolutions, civil wars, etc are illegal to one side or the other. With cities already going bankrupt and the economy getting worse, Obama will have a hard time recruiting his “army”. The ones he does get will need both hands to hold their pants up.

First of all, absent a national calamity, secession will never happen. As soon as the Fed's decided that Texas was serious about it, every Texas leader involved would be arrested on all sorts of made-up charges. Say hello to the FBI at your doorstep, backed by the 101st Airborne.

But if secession did happen, I'm guessing that the assets would be peaceably divided, much like what happened when the Ukraine seceded from the old USSR.
