Im seriously conflicted. Im beginning to have flashbacks to the presidential race of 2008. There are some disturbing parallels between the candidacy of the hapless John you cant do it my friend McCain and the present candidate, the anointed of the Washington Republican Establishment. Its akin to the feeling I got when I realized that George Bush was anything but the conservative he positioned himself to be.
Americans have been watching with an almost preternatural intensity as this all too real drama plays out on our national stage. Mitt Romney ran for the nomination of the Republican Party like a junkyard dog destroying candidate after candidate and devil-take-the-hindmost. It was readily apparent that he didnt much care where the bottom of the swamp was either. Though many of us disliked his tactics and they were short, brutal and to the point, we salved ourselves with the thought just wait for the campaign this summer and fall, Romney will chew up Obama and spit him out, weve got a tiger in our tank.
Readers will remember that I was never that high on Romney. I saw the potential millstone that Romneycare presented to the Republican effort to oust the Marxist Obama, as unfair as it may be. Romneycare as it has been dubbed is, and was, nothing compared to the utter devastation that will be Obamas legacy to this country should the healthcare law not be overturned.
Mitt Romneys attempt to bring sanity to Massachusetts health care costs, through a state mandated health care system, was admirable in its aims. Romney should have known it would have been vulnerable to a Democratic state legislature which couldnt wait to turn the law into a tax-and-spend opportunity, which was then followed by the election of a liberal Democrat governor after Romneys departure who turned the law into something totally different than its original intent. What Romney did was to remediate some of the states onerous health care regulations. What Barack Hussein Obama has done is to enslave an entire nation to the false gods of liberal governance.
Romney has got to start listening to some different advice. From what Ive observed, he should dump his advisers now. Whoever advised Romney to allow photo ops from The Boathouse and The Monster speed boat while the Anointed One is out campaigning, schmoozing senior citizens and sucking down brewskis with constituents, should be in some other line of work period.
Romney has lost his nerve or someone high up in his campaign has. Running from the fight is serving none of us well. No incumbent president since Jimma Boy Cata has been as vulnerable as Barack Obama. Whats infuriating me and many other patriots, at least according to the comments we get, and we get a bunch Romney wants us to trust him to bring this country out of the darkness that is this depression. He wants us to fight for him. When is he going to fight for us?

The ship to have somebody else in top presidential ticket has sailed. I partly blame conservatives with their inability to rally behind one candidate against Romney for that. Being whinny that Romney campaign was ruthless in attacking other primary candidates didn't help. If other candidates couldn't win under Romney's attacks, what pray could they have against 0bama & Co.?
You had me fooled. Oh well.
” - - - What is your point. Wake up! “
It is now even money that Obama will beat Romney.
With Marvelous Mitt trying to imitate paint drying when he “hammered” Obama last week on the sorry Labor report, a 10 % loss to Obama in November seems to be a sure thing.
The point is that the GOP - E endorsed the Godfather of Obama”care” to run against the Father of Obama”care.” Really, REALLY dumb!
The GOP-E learned NOTHING from the National Election of 2008!
Romney will lose all support except the GOP - Elite.
BTW, a National Election is a terrible thing to waste.
'Splain this one to me Lucy...and do it without the nine syllable words, please. A good grasp of English Lit does not an intelligent gentleman make.
Romney got the nomination by playing an ugly, treacherous game of hardball in which a great many of us Republicans never even had a voice because by the time the primary came to our state, it was Romney vs. Paul.
Romney didn't win in any true sense of the world. He finegled, manipulated, outspent-by-tenfold, and strategized -- I think it's pretty safe to say that the majority of Republicans think he stinks. His getting the nomination is one more case of a liberal minority seizing power of representation over a conservative majority. It's happened across the U.S. through the MSM spinning for the Democrat party, and now it's happening with the Republican party.
Romney is bad news for everybody, though currently appealing to the faint-hearted.
” - - - I think Tea Party/ conservatives will do well in Texas.”
Pass it on: Cruz/Dewherst Runoff Election in TEXAS on 7-31-12.
Good thread! Thanks for the discussion. Lots of hotbuttons were pushed, except the one labeled: “Romney is the right Nominee because____________________.”
Run this thread again, and maybe you’ll get “the rest of the story.” Cheers!
Yuri is right. Mitt Romney is a wonderful portrait of what a demoralized American looks like.
“You are obviously a hard core liberal masquerading as a Republican or a sore looser. ROMNEY WAS THE CHOICE OF THE REPUBLICAN VOTERS IN THE PRIMARY. What is your point. Wake up!”
Mitt Romney won because he campaigned on lies against his opponents. How’s that going to work against another liar, Mittbot? And why should we tolerate such injustice within a party we claim to own?
“Hey stupid. Go watch the link....;)”
Did you happen to watch Wolf Blitzer’s CNN Situation Room today, around 5:30 PM?
His guest was John H. Sununu (the Sr.). Wolf kept hammering away at John H. to get him to say something negative about Marvelous Mitt.
Finally, John H. knuckled under and said “That the Romney Campaign should use short, declarative sentences. This is not a campaign of nuances.”
That last line was the closest I’ve heard to a piece of criticism to Romney by a big-gun GOP Elite.
Hopefully, they will DUMP Romney by an ABSTAIN first Ballot in Tampa.

Can’t wait! I think Cruz has a good chance, too!
You behave as if 0bama will be playing nice. Again, if other candidates couldn’t win under Romney’s attacks, what pray could they have against 0bama & Co.?
Pooooor baby! The truth sure hurts, doesn't it. Maybe we should invite Barney Frank and his new husband, wife or whatever to be the GOP ticket.
Romney is a man without a spine, without a shred of principle, and all he knows how to do is spend tons of special interest money to carpet bomb the airwaves during primaries to smear anyone and everyone to his right and to imitate Lewinsky to leftists and their policies.
Diogenesis:
Great graphics! Keep them coming! Pour it on! We need not worry that Romney will ever NOT deserve it. He is an absolute POS like his daddy and his mommy before him.
I think its your classy language for which you will be remembered after you have gone. It certainly won’t be for eloquence or persuasiveness. To think, you have been a (verrrrry quiet) sleeper cell since 1999.
Is JimRob also not a FReeper?
I get the perfectly accurate "screaming" part but there is nothing inside your gloves. As to "sissy" aren't you projecting???
You’ve drunk the soup, boyo! And more’s the pity.
