Some shrinkologist decided that it's "traumatic" for small children when they don't get a trophy.
Is there *any* science behind this?
How many children will start crying and how many will go "Oh well, I'll try harder next time."?
And how many of those crying children are either very very young, like 2, or spoiled brats.

"SELECTED! NOT ELECTED!" Obviously so. Witness the national temper tantrum pitched by the soccer generation kids when they cast their very first votes for president in 2000. The little darlings didn't even get a participation trophy. They're still pouting and stamping their little "Weeboks" to this very day.
