My doctor just told me that a recent study found that it did help reduce chances of the disease.

The active ingredient in fish oils is also found in organ meats of land animals. It is called Phosphotidyserene and is available in health food stores as a capsule.

By the way, Coho Salmon is a vegetarian and does not contain high levels of mercury. It also tastes better if you can find it.

From the Mayo Clinic:

There is evidence from multiple studies supporting intake of recommended amounts of DHA and EPA in the form of dietary fish or fish oil supplements lowers triglycerides, reduces the risk of death, heart attack, dangerous abnormal heart rhythms, and strokes in people with known cardiovascular disease, slows the buildup of atherosclerotic plaques (”hardening of the arteries”), and lowers blood pressure slightly.

Not Alzheimers, but heart health.

If you swallow the fish oil capsule before your first bite of food, you won’t taste it if you burp.

New research about lyme disease bacteria causing Alzheimer. The problem is so many doctors know nothing about Lyme. There is only one reliable test called the Western Blot, and it has to be sent to a good lab like Igenex in California.

I don’t know about Alzheimer’s but I was surprised that my opthamologist (and cataract surgeon) advised me to take fish oil for dry eye, which I have suffered from for years after wearing soft contact lenses for maybe too many of those years. Anyway, fish oil seems to help and also astanxian(sp) which is what turns salmon orange is supposed to be the best eye medicine available from the supplement store. There is a small amount in fish oil but a supplement can be added to the fish oil of about 8mg. This is supposed to be good for all eye ailments. Can’t hurt I’d guess.

“I’ve taken 3 grams of fish oil daily for many years. I just can’t remember why though...”

LOL!

I guess I’m the only one who got this!
