A friend of mine, who I recently reconnected with, told me how much he admired Jimmah Cahtah. Very patiently, I directed him to an article written by a secret service agent about Jimmah attempting to kill a small, starving dog with a bow saw, simply for trying to eat the cat food that Jimmah had set out on his front porch.
He is no longer a fan.
I took a writing class once, and the (obviously very left-wing, so the info is anything but biased) instructor recounted how a friend of hers had written a bio of Carter; it’s fairly common for biographers to grow to hate their subject, but the author found that Carter was insufferably arrogant and egotistical (the opposite of his public image).
