What if Obama had plans of bombing Iranian nuclear facilities himself and his offer of military hardware was simply meant to keep an unsuspecting Nation of Israel on the sidelines until the American attack could be carried out! …Nope. Not unless Obama wants the Hezbollah sleeper cells to suddenly spring into action, that is.

Absent clear and convincing evidence that they were about to set off nukes in either/both Israel and the USA there is no chance of this. Oil would immediately shoot to $200 bbl and gas would go to $8 a gallon and throw us into economic collapse. Not a good re-election strategy IMHO.

When have the Republicans EVER pulled an October surprise. I know the Democrats have, but I cannot remember a Republican one.

I doubt it. It could always start going badly. Further it opens him up to attack of starting yet another war. If the Iranians are able to block the Strait of Hormuz and/or tag a carrier, how does that help him? I just don’t see him taking such a gamble.
Now if Iran attacks first, that’s a different thing. It would be more like he had no choice, reluctantly having to hammer back hard.
Most of the leftists I know that are aware of the Iran situation think Obama is forcing war with them. So actually going to war with Iran would lose him votes.
