The other day I was going into a used bookstore. They also buy books and a young (probably college age) woman was struggling to get a box of books out of the trunk of her car. I stopped and picked up the box for her and said I’d carry it in. She had longish hair, and a revealing sundress that made it evident many hours in the gym and the tanning salon had not been wasted.

As we turned to walk toward the store I became aware there was a huge bird (or something) tattooed on her left back/shoulder. After we got inside and dropped off the books, I happened to look back and on the back of each of her legs was some kind of design (arrow head maybe?) tattooed on each leg.

I had such an overwhelming urge to just shout at her, “are you nuts? you have the body of Aphrodite, a beautiful face, you are absolutely breathtakingly stunning, and you mess it up with this garbage?”

But discretion got the better of me and I said nothing.

Like you, I have met some stunningly pretty young women who have messed up their beautiful skin with tattoos that will look terrible in less than 10 years. In addition, they limit their job opportuities since many firms will not hire young folks with tats (it’s a personal choice and a dumb one at that).

However, there are many pretty young women without tattoos or strange body piercings if you look around. Last year, I met a beautiful Morgan Stanley private equity gal who was every bit as pretty as Miss Cyprus. Blonde hair and fair, clear complexion with little make-up.

And Sandra Smith, blonde commodities reporter at Fox Business is another beauty without tats. Sandra, originally from Wheaton, Illinois, used to work at the Merc in Chicago. I used to see her at nearby eateries; my firends and I would just stare when she entered.
