“So the only real question is to insure that the CIA ethics office made very sure there was a clean break between Obama and the CIA when he left, that is,cut all the active ties, and that Obama should not involve himself too deeply with legislative or appropriations activities involving the intelligence community,as that would be conflict of interest.”

Would the same logic have applied to George Herbert Walker Bush, since he was CIA before being president.

Though few would imagine it, the CIA does have an ethics office. W.F. Buckley had to have every manuscript vetted before publication. H.W. Bush is a lot more complicated.

For example, there is the “Bush ranch” in Columbia, I believe, which may be used as a staging area for major military operations, and is right next door to a large ranch owned by the Unification Church (”Moonies”). I did say “complicated.”

And Bill Clinton might have had business with the CIA as well, both as a college student in Europe, allegedly meeting with some high placed communist official or two. All the way to letting the CIA use the airstrip in Mena, AR for various covert purposes when he was governor.

Nothing is ever easy. However, while it may remain covert, they do make at least some effort to have a real disconnect with those in political office associated with them, so this is also an assumption with Obama.
