This Santorum supporter just voted for Newt

I heretofore supported Santorum - but- made my decision and voted for Newt this morn.

Why? I have voted for every Republican since turning 18 in 1988 - BUT this time around, if Mitt Romney is the nominee, I will NOT debase my country or myself by voting for this sleeze.

For the past two months of being deluged by the underhanded commercials onto which Romney has attached his name, and after watching his sophomoric behavior at his rally in The Villages (Florida) yesterday - I can say emphatically that this is no gentleman and this is no statesman.

3rd party or independent conservative it will be if Mitt Romney is the GOP nominee.

Let me explain:

"Mitt Romney nomination could be GOP Death Knell"

Sorry about my editing job; I threw this together at 1AM as I felt a moral obligation to do something about this nonsense...

One hope is that many Santorum supporters have sudden fits of conscience and common sense when they go into the voting booths today.

But, But, Santorum didn’t drop out!!! How could you POSSIBLY have voted for Gingrich if Santorum didn’t drop out and endorse him? Don’t you know that the only way voters could switch to Gingrich was if Santorum dropped out and endorsed him, and that Santorum’s selfish pride was preventing you from doing this on your own?

Yes, that is sarcastic. Every voter should choose what they think is best. Santorum wasn’t going to win anyway.

P. S. to previous post:

Better that future generations that the light of liberty was extinguished by a so-called "progressive" Democrat than by a member of the Party of Jefferson.

God bless you! GOD BLESS YOU, as surely He has blessed our world with the likes of you to act so honestly and clearly, even at the cost of some self-sacrifice. Romney is depraved, he has authorized and empowered wickedness and evil (condoning "Gay Youth Pride" in junior high kids and making easily available cheap-and-easy taxpayer-subsidized abortion-on-demand in Massachusetts), and he is EQUALLY DEPRAVED compared to Obama. The idea of there being "lesser evil" in an Obama vs. Romney race, is all pretend, illusion, wishful thinking.

GOD BLESS YOU.

And Godspeed Newt Gingrich.

Ooops - should have said, "Better that future generations learn that the light of liberty . . . ."

If Romney wins Florida you will see the media crown him immediately and pressure all the rest to get out of the race. Gingrich needs to win this to keep Romney at bay until super tuesday where he can finally knock him out.

I hope Santorum and Paul supporters bite the bullet in Florida and vote to keep Romney out. That means supporting Gingrich as you did, OP!

I hope there are lots of others that do this too. For the record I voted absentee a week ago for Gingrich...but I was never a Santorum supporter either.

Why are other Floridians voting for this guy? What is your sense of things on the ground?

God bless you! I’ve been saying this is not a checkers game, but rather more like chess. We need to think strategy and derail Mittens. I woke up this morning extremely hopeful today after attending his appearance in Tampa.

I think that a Santorum withdrawal would be every bit as disastrous to the process as Fred Thompson’s in ‘08. There will simply be no one left articulating the conservative, Constitutional vision in a way that I can understand. Newt has dined with the devil too many times of late when conservatives needed him, he was inclined to agree with establishment thinking instead. Now that he needs voters such as ME, I no longer trust him. Regrettably, Bob
