Sir, I would ask that you would reconsider your decision to evict the houses of worship from public schools in New York City.
Do you have any idea of what is going on in your city – let alone the rest of the country? This is not the time to be evicting churches, the lifeline of worship and hope, from the people of your community. Are you deliberately trying to sabotage your own community and increase the crime?
Why would you take away something positive, that brings money into your system, when you have nothing to replace it? Why would you deprive any neighborhood of a safe spiritual and social outlet which is opens services like tutoring, soup kitchens, etc to both Christians and Non-Christian alike? That is what good churches do.
The churches have as much right to rent the space in these public buildings as any other organization. They should be allowed the same access as the Boy Scouts, Flower Club, or Teen Democrats. They pay their taxes as citizens and should be allowed to access the use of the schools as citizens. The decision to block their use is nothing short of arbitrary and discriminatory. The fact that you have made choices of who you will allow to evict and who you will allow to continue to stay gives credence to this point.
Mr. Mayor, this is just one more in a series of dictatorial pronouncements that have drifted down from your Ivory Tower and made me very grateful that I live in Florida. I have watched New York as it deteriorates from bad to uninhabitable. You have taxed the people into servitude and push your authority to that resembling a tyrant. These top to bottom dictates don’t usually work for too long in America. No wonder so many New Yorkers are moving. They are all coming to Florida…..
Is there no end to the intrusion of the State, especially in New York. Is Bloomberg so full of his god complex as he tells people how they MUST live that he has gone this far?
How do a free people (New Yorkers) so willingly give their liberty to a nut case like this?
