Ron Paul Could Be Obama's Best Friend
Policy Mic ^

Posted on 01/10/2012 9:54:51 AM PST by mnehring

Congressman Ron Paul’s campaign could lead to several doomsday scenarios. His base is largely comprised of several loud minorities who have all banded together to collectively give a thumb in the eye to Republicans, other conservatives, and ‘the man.’ From here on out, his winning or over-performing in Iowa could have several unintended, yet disastrous consequences.

Not spending more than we take in, trimming the size of the federal government, and eliminating a few departments are things that almost every conservative and Republican can agree with. His foreign policy runs to the left of President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Michael Moore, and Cindy Sheehan. His followers are so passionate that they would rather sink the entire country than see another Republican win. They’re not only selfish, they’re irresponsible.

His foreign policy crosses over from naïve to dangerous. Paul is someone who probably wouldn’t have declared war on Hitler. He sees no threat from radical Islam that is not our fault. For this reason and others, he could never make it through the GOP primaries. Even if he did, it would lead to a 1984-style landslide defeat. Even worse, if Paul wins in Iowa but nowhere else, he could run as a third party candidate, splitting the anti-Obama vote and becoming Democrats' best friend since Ross Perot.

Iowa’s GOP royalty worries that a Ron Paul victory will delegitimize the already-questionable caucus. People already wonder if Republicans can select a candidate that the majority of the country would support. This of course would not send the hallowed Iowa caucuses into history, but could lead to their being played down by a majority of candidates in the future.

For the first time, Congressman Paul’s baggage is starting to be aired. In the 1980’s, he published a newsletter which showcased a large number of racially charged articles. Tidbits detailing how Martin Luther King Jr. “seduced little boys and girls” and stating that African Americans who protest should “gather at a food stamp bureau or crack house” are just the tip of the iceberg. Strangely enough, these have not been exploited by the left.

Only conservative pundits like Hannity, Limbaugh, and Levin are talking about it, because they’re aware that sending Paul up against Obama is all but gift-wrapping him a second term. That’s also why so many liberals are keeping quiet. If he pulls off a miracle and wins the nomination, he would not only wound the GOP, but help seal its fate while they discuss his baggage on every nightly news program for nine months straight.

If conservatives want to win back the White House, they need to realize that there is no shame in nominating someone whom you only agree with eighty-five percent of the time. Never compromising on anything may allow them to pat themselves on the back, but it rarely works in a republic. Romney and Gingrich may not be perfect, but they would certainly help steer the country in a better direction.

America needs a good leader, not a political savior or martyr.

Ron Paul could be Saddam Hussein’s best friend. The pervert Paul has never met a dictator or terrorist that he didn’t like.

The pervert Paul consistently defends dictators and terrorists while attacking America and real conservatives.

“History is written by winners” - Napoleon Buonaparte. We have spent precious resources to fight imaginary enemy and created a new, real one in the process. Acts of Congress? Seriously? As a result, we are stuck with unimaginable debt which is about to crash our nation - and you still continue chest beating. Who is looney now?

What new enemy have we created? And how is Saddam Hussein an imaginary enemy? Saddam was an openly sworn enemy of the United States.

And now you want to argue that the debt of war is crashing our nation? That is 100% a Code Pink and democrat party talking point. The war in Iraq though was surely prolonged by leftist traitors like Ron Paul, Robert KKK Byrd, Code Pink and the rest of the libertarian/ liberal leftist alliance who continually have beat their chests in blaming America and giving moral support to our enemies.

It is traitorous loser perverts like Ron Paul who are trying to crash this nation by acting as the enemy within. Another attack on American soil could result in 300,000 dead Americans or even possibly 3 million Americans dead and how is that going to help our economy? Yet traitors like Paul would be out the very next day blaming America again and trying to attack every effort we would make to defend ourselves as being un-Constitutional.

It is customary for assylum patients to call people outside crazy. Fortunately, most people in US are sane:

According to a poll yesterday, Romney and Paul are the only ones polling better than Obama in the general.

Thanks for another Romney-pimping blog post.

I can go on and on this one, but let’s take Abortion. Paul ignores that the Constitution says no one can be deprived of life without due process of law- in other words, the individual right of existence trumps all, yet Paul treats this issue as a 10th Amendment issue as though States’ rights somehow trump individual rights.

Funny how you didn't bitch about this when you were supporting Cain.

There is no question about it. Paulbots are very good at spamming polls. They have nothing else to do in mom and dad's basement but smoke dope and spam internet polls. The good thing is those are the only polls the surrender monkey can ever win.

Thanks for your post mnehring.....

Paulites like Samagon make up for their lack of Conservatism and clear thinking, with the passion and zeal of a doomsday preacher atop a soapbox in Pershing Square on a Sunday morning.

They are entitled to their opinions, but never their own “facts” as your post illustrates.

At times I envy their motivation, but I never envy their eyes!

“Daniel-san, Look eyes.... always look eyes!”

Looking into Ron Paul’s eyes many years ago, I gazed into the terrifyingly empty pools of the abyss..... he’s been a non-entity for me ever since......JMHO

Eyes? What other Ron Paul's body parts you don't like? His left thumb disturbs me immensely...

Can we discuss issues instead? After whole barrage of indignant responses, I am yet to see an answer to my simple question: Who is better? It looks increasingly likely that Romney and Paul will get to finish line. Will you consciously choose Romney over Paul? And stop that "paulite" crap, it gets stale.

“Eyes? What other Ron Paul’s body parts you don’t like? His left thumb disturbs me immensely...”

Sorry FRiend, but most recognize that the eyes are a gateway into the soul. If you choose to ignore a person’s eye’s when they go all wild and crazy, that’s your problem.

“Can we discuss issues instead?”

Not if you think RP is the issue. I, and most other people, dismissed him as a creditable candidate or a representative Conservative years ago. Let’s face it, at best, RP is like the blind squirrel that every now and then finds an acorn. Waving the Constitution about and claiming purity at every turn does not make one right, much less Conservative. I will not play your game and elevate that man’s rhetoric to the level of “serious discussion.”

Closed minded....you bet, and dismissive too! RP’s “body” of rhetoric over the years, up to, and including the present, have conspired to closed it off forever. Looking into his eyes just put a padlock on that door.

My original post stands.....Ron Paul is not a Republican much less a Conservative......He’s a Libertarian, and as such, not worthy of consideration in Republican party elections or on Conservative forums.(Besides the fact I think his attempting to wear Republican clothing basicaly dishonest.) End of discussion.
