Are We going to Stop Romney or What? (Suggestions)
FR ^ | 10-18-2011 | parksstp

Posted on 10/18/2011 9:17:29 AM PDT by parksstp

Folks, In light of the recent posts JR posted on why FR can never support Romney (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2793300/posts), the time has come to take action and ensure that he is not the Republican Nominee in 2012. As you can tell from JR’s post, Mitt has quite a detailed laundry list of items that go far beyond Romneycare, yet in the current political cycle so far, it seems like the driving message so far has been that Romneycare is his “only” flaw. Our conservative candidates in the race have helped raise up this view. Not a single one of them has taken a shot at Mitt outside Romneycare. It seems like many of them are playing the defeatist card and hoping to be on the short list for No. 2. This is unacceptable and if we allow it to continue, we will indeed be saddled with Romney as a nominee.

Therefore, I propose to you “Operation Don’t Tread on Us”. Since the mainstream media will not report and our purported conservative candidates will not bring up in the debates Romney’s full position/issue record, it’s time for the good people of the Tea Party and FR to “help” them out.

What do I mean? I mean doing the job these people were supposed to be doing. Putting Mitt on the spot and asking him the tough questions: like climate change, mandates, and having the quotes ready to contradict the answer he tries to throw at us. From now until the caucus/primaries, we must:

(1)Actively attend and Infiltrate all public Romney Campaign Events and (2)Ensure we get the chance to ask him OUR questions on his record and (3)Have a camera and/or tape recorder ready to go to get his statements on record

Romney has been ignoring the Tea Party for the most part because he knows he differs with us too greatly to ever get any substantial support. We have, in turn, ignored him, and left him to do his bidding with the establishment and moderate wing of the GOP. This must stop now.

Exhibit A: Obama encounter with the Tea Party (This is what we need to do to Romney)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uqy5rwX2Io8

Exhibit B: Wisconsin Senators Go AWOL (Whatever Campaign Event Romney is at, We MUST be there also to ask the tough questions)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kFveowfazqU

Exhibit C: This video has it good (Tea Party Protestors in NH)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0YTspLRqHg8&feature=related

I have tried to find a direct clip of Romney encountering Tea Party members asking the “Important” questions, and have found none, a sign that his operational minions are good at keeping them out. Therefore, we’re going to have to get creative at getting in and getting our questions raised and answered (or at least on tape).

Politco has the events calendar for each Presidential candidate laid out. It’s still early, so most candidates have not booked really far in advance for the events they are going to attend because it depends on the polls.

http://www.politico.com/2012-election/calendar/?date=2011-11-06

Romney has the following events scheduled for the upcoming week. Any FReepers or Tea Party members near Sioux Falls, I highly encourage you to go and ask the questions raised under JR’s post concerning Romney’s record. And make sure you get it on tape or audio! If we make the effort to consistently, as a group, challenge Romney on his stances at every major event between now and the first caucuses/primaries, there is NO way he will be able to beat out the other conservatives in the race.

But time is running out. The last major debate for a while is taking place in Vegas. And the first major contests are less than 60-70 days away. We MUST act NOW.

•Oct 19 – 7 pm Speaking at the Sioux Falls Chamber Of Commerce 1101 Northwest Ave., Sioux Falls, S.D. •Oct 20 – No time given Attending a fundraiser hosted by Gov. Dave Heineman 555 South 10th St., Omaha, Neb. •Oct 26 – No time given Hosting a breakfast fundraiser with members of Congress Washington, D.C.

One way to stop Romney is for Rick Santorum and Michelle Bachman to stop tantruming. They spend their time and all their effort attacking everyone but Romney. Basically, they are saying that if they can’t be the conservative nominee, nobody else can. Rick, Michelle, stop, just stop.

“One last idea. How realistic would it be to bus people into NH for the primary vote to “help” our conservative candidate.”

(With a Big Mama shake of the head and frown): parksstp, I think you should retract this suggestion and apologize immediately. That strategy may be legal, but it is NOT “cricket!” I hope we at FR are better than that.

Otherwise, your ideas to stop Mittens are sound.

fraud
- wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain: he was convicted of fraud | prosecutions for social security frauds.

- a person or thing intended to deceive others, typically by unjustifiably claiming or being credited with accomplishments or qualities: mediums exposed as tricksters and frauds.

It's fraud.

“it’s going to take a grassroots effort”

And the place to do that is with a spontaneous movement of like minded Conservatives in every voting precinct who organize to get out THEIR vote, in the primaries, no matter where and how Romney is spending his money.

Romney can be defeated by a spontaneous mob of ABMs “Anyone But Mitt”, grass roots projectiles of locally organized opposition.

We only need to pass the word and tell everyone to pickup the ball in their own area.

Fine, I’ll retract, but don’t be surprised when Mitt starts busing in supporters from MA to shore up whatever challenge he’s getting from the other conservatives in NH. Even if they don’t give him a challenge, he’ll bus them in from MA and the rest of New England just to make the victory margins larger, which will then be ran ad nauseum in the MSM leading up to SC and FL.

NH wrote the law the way they did for a purpose. The purpose is to protect their first-in-the-nation primary status. I believe they figured if they wrote the law and voting eligibility requirements loosely, and voters of other states griped about having less influence, by letting them come to NH and take part, they’d be helping protect their status as the First Primary.

I’ve got a suggestion, how ‘bout getting a life. Cain is going to implode on foreign policy tonight. Perry is too much of a dunce. Romney is the best hope for Republicans to retake the White House. Conservatives will have to keep his feet to the fire like we did with George W. Bush on immigration, Harriett Myers, etc. It’s too bad, I like Cain.

I just wanted to say welcome to FR before you are shown the door.

This is politics & the only result is winning - that can be at all cost. Was ObamaCare played by the rules? You want to live with ObamaCare rather than defeating it by any & all means?

Yes, so welcoming to any opposing views. Remind me again who I can vote for?

The other candidates need to stop pussyfooting around in debates and attack Mitt for the RINO he is as well. I’ve said this from day one. I feel this will have a quick & immediate impact on Mitt RINO’s polls.

- No one has brought up that RomneyCare supports & pays for abortion with tax money. He has said repeatedly that he is proud of his “healthcare” law. He was unapologetically PRO-Abortion throughout his whole political career, until he wanted to run for President.

“Romney on abortion 2002” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKwVNUz52vo
“Romney on Abortion 1994” http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=UeQGObiGGqY

- No one has brought up Romney’s record of being all for infringing on our 2nd amendment rights.
“Romney on gun control 2002” http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKwVNUz52vo

- He’s even openly pushing the hoax that is climate change as real & man-made. Has anyone said anything about it in debates? Or made an ad about it?

“Mitt Romney Believes In Man Made Climate Change” http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/06/03/us-campaign-romney-idUSTRE7525GM20110603

- So many more things can be listed.

For some reason it seems not only the media, but the other candidates as well are afraid to really chip away at this bastard. Even the debate questions have been geared to give Mitt an easy ride to the primaries. Pay close attention to the debate format. The liberal media is shielding their chosen one (Just like they did with Obama in 08.)

Upcoming debates:
Oct 18 on CNN
Dec 10 on ABC
The Iowa caucus is on Jan 3. We don’t have much time.

I can tell you exactly how this debate will play out:

Bachmann will spend the bulk of her time taking jabs at Perry and Cain, but will stay clear of Romney.

Santorum will hammer Cain and Perry as hard as he did last debate but let Romney go clear.

Gingrich doesn’t attack anyone, he throws compliments at everyone and tries to emulate as the smartest man in the room

Perry is going to go after Cain because he see’s this is where the bulk of his support went. He might take a jab or two at Romney, but for the most part, Cain will be the target.

Cain will spend most of his time defending his positions. But he will return the jabs coming from Perry.

Ron Paul will be Ron Paul

Romney will sit back, smile, complement Michele and Herman Cain.

I hope I’m wrong, but this seems to be how the debates usually pan out.

You can vote for anybody, but a purge is going on around here concerning anyone posting anything positive Mitt-related.

It’s O.K. to push voter fraud (post 1) but not weigh the merits of Romney vs. Cain vs. Perry? Got it. Shutting down discerning views...how very liberal.

state by state:
SC, 440,000 voted in 2008 primary. It is tough to influence this now with phoning. People there won’t be focused much until Iowa results.

NH, over 200,000 voted in ‘08. More amenable to grassroots activity, but people there are not getting excited due to the large Romney lead.

Iowa, Mitt needs to be beaten. Only 120,000 participated in 08. Get a verizon unlimited prepay cell phone and change the phone number to an Iowa number. And start phoning. I would phone for Cain.

Lots of people first come to FR to lurk and learn. By shutting out Romney posts, new readers might not learn why he isn’t a conservative candidate. Since FR is the only consistently conservative voice, I wouldn’t know where to send someone to get a conservative POV concerning Romney. Exposing him would help more than treating him like an evil non-candidate. But, I guess FR is a refuge for the conservative choir, not a learning center for future conservatives. I believe it costs the cause an opportunity to inform those willing to listen.
