AUDIO: Herman Cain sings "To Dream the Impossible Dream" at Tennessee campaign stop
The Daily Caller ^ | Gracie Ferrell

JACKSON, Tenn. — While most GOP candidates are blazing through Iowa, South Carolina and New Hampshire, Herman Cain followed his roots back to West Tennessee on Friday.

“By the way, you all know that I am 1 and 2 [in the polls],” Cain exulted during a stop in Jackson, Tenn. “I’m not bragging … The bull’s eye on your back gets bigger.”

Cain is currently leading the pack of Republican presidential candidates, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Not even a malfunctioning microphone could sap Cain’s energy as he turned around a few moments of silence by showing off his deep baritone voice and belting out “Impossible Dream.”

Of course, Cain is forgetting the part at the end of "Don Quixote" where the hero regains his sanity and forswears the whole "questing" thing -- but man, the guy can SING.

If I recall correctly, Pat Buchanan used to play that song at his campaign rallies.

The thing wasn’t that Quixote was wrong, but that he saw into people and what they really were, not just what you saw on the surface.

Great book, btw.

I downloaded Cain’s songs from his website. I think all the songs are under the heading Sunday Morning. His songs make tears come to my eyes.

There is only one reason why the bumblebee flies,” said Cain as he wrapped up his speech. “He didn’t get the memo that says that he can’t fly.”

“I didn’t get the memo that says I can’t be the president of the United States of America.”

lol

priceless!

Go Cain!

Actually, the bumble bee flies because the shape and movement of its wings create vortices of sufficiently low air pressure to provide it lift. But what the hell, he’s still leading for my vote on Jan 31st...

Some of his songs here:

The comments at the bottom are pretty rude. But according to one of the comments:

“Album was recorded over 10 years ago for friends. It was not released by the Herman Cain campaign but was posted quite a while back by a friend of Mr Cain’s on a Cain FB page.”

Of course, Cain is forgetting the part at the end of "Don Quixote" where the hero regains his sanity and forswears the whole "questing" thing -- but man, the guy can SING.

But in the play, which is where the song came from, his "Lady" Aldonza (Dulcinea) starts singing the song to him on his death bed to inspire him to pick up the quest again, and he remembers the words, sits up and then breaks into his theme song as he once again vows to fight.

Unfortunately, he collapses and dies right in the middle of the song.

Same problem here. Listened to Gomer Pyle’s version instead on YouTube to get my fix.

The Cains also look happy.

Not so with the usurpers.
