The American Dream: Sick but not Dead

Today, those aspirations have become extremely difficult for vast numbers of young people and newcomers to fulfill.

I like this piece. Suburban home ownership is here to stay, but it will change: more multi-generational households, more accessory apartments, more work at home etc. But there really is no alternative.

The American Dream will be dead until people either remember or realize that the American Dream isn’t the same as ‘home ownership’.

This American dream will be revitalizd as the American people turn away from the rot of socialism and marxism and the way it is draining this nation's economy and spirit, and turn back to the foundational, fundamantal moral principles that made this nation strong, and to its attending free market.

In this regard, we have been having "Tea Parties" across America for years, fighting this sickness. We did not always call them that, but it is nonetheless what they were.

In 2009 it broke out in ernest across the nation.

Americans see for themselves the futility and danger of the socialist, liberal, RINO, and go along to get along establishment politicians and they began turning them out in 2010, and will continue to do so in 2012.

The faith, prayer, encouragement, hard work and hope of tens of millions is coming into play.

Still, in this regard, the good Lord does not promise us that we will not have difficiulty, He promises us that we can have peace, fulfilloment, freedom, and love in spite of it.

"In the world ye shall have tribulation. But be of good cheer. I have overcome the world." - John 16:33

The fundamental moral truths taught and given us by Jesus Christ are the reason America is free. Because a large enough portion of our people freely choose to follow those principles.

As I said, and believe, an awakening to those fundamental truths is occurring. It made a difference in 2010. It will make the difference in 2012. Some do not couch it in these terms, but the principles they are turning to, and freely choosing come from Him...and it will have its sway and impact. I look forward to it...though it be a long, hard road.

This is the key and secret to our liberty, for America and her people in this world and for each of us out of it.

I have been in a constant state of discontent since 1993. I have had days and days of worry for my children and country.

Home owernship represents some of America’s intangible and tangible ideals of individual liberty and independence. Which I think is why socialists hate it and why Clinton placed a poison pill in the real estate market.

One of the most important foundations of a free society, is land ownership. With that said, we first need to take back the federal land they are not using. We can turn the govts methods against them, when something is laying fallow, and not producing in a city, the city takes it over and sells it. This is what the states need to do to federal land holdings. Next, end property tax on private, primary land holdings. Thirdly, why can’t people borrow money at the same rate for mortgages, as banks borrow from the Fed? As long as the Federal Reserve is acting like a giveaway program for foreign countries, American borrowers are treated like the “red headed stepchild”. The only prerequisite for home or land ownership, should be ability to pay it back, but why does a private for profit corporation like the Federal Reserve, make little on loans to large banks, but massive amounts on private citizens, and the US govt?

The American Dream is upward mobility: the ability to build a life for yourself no matter what your background might be.

One of the PRODUCTS of that dream may well be owning a home, but owning a home is NOT the American Dream in and of itself.

The politicians and the real estate lobby have tried for decades to get us to think otherwise. Until people stop buying the line of BS, the dream ain’t alive.
