Sorry. Off topic. But, a lot to read on
Ms. Barnhardt's website... DON'T miss this one; "More Musloid Death Threats".

To refine what I am now hearing. It was a NG helo (flown by the 160th SOAR). I yield to your experience.
To: Steel Wolf
Thank you for your voice of experience and reason......my boy is a 53 pilot and his current address is Bastion.......

That question proves your basic ignorance of even the main article by Barnhardt. With references to Alex Jones and Jerome Corsi, I place Barnhardt's site on the level of other CT sites.
Read comment #16 by Steel Wolf. It'll educate you.

His post doesn't educate me enough.

"The personnel in the helicopter belonged to an immediate reaction force that was en route to support troops in contact on the ground, said the NSW member. An immediate reaction force differs from a quick reaction force in that the former is built into the mission plan and is on site during the raid, sometimes circling the action in a helicopter, waiting to be committed if needed, whereas a quick reaction force is typically brought forward from the rear, the NSW source said."
The use of a regular Army Chinook to fly a JSOC mission was atypical, the source said. Most JSOC missions involving helicopters are flown by the Armys 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne).

Bastion is some nice, clean desert living. ;-) And the Brits are always good company. If he’s a 53 pilot, he’s probably out of Leatherneck, right? Anyway, I hope he’s beating the heat right now. You can probably cook and egg in the shade there this time of year.

Read the article from the site you posted..specifically this:
“The remaining U.S. military casualties were divided between a five-person regular Army aircrew and three Air Force combat controllers, said a special ops source who has been briefed on the incident. The use of a regular Army Chinook to fly a JSOC mission was atypical, the source said. Most JSOC missions involving helicopters are flown by the Armys 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (Airborne).”

The use of a regular Army Chinook to fly a JSOC mission was atypical, the source said. That must be a relatively new "atypical". Guaranteed, I retired over 10 years ago, but during my time in SF, were very rarely flew on TF160 birds.

I posted on another thread, We don’t have any death pictures of Osama, He was buried at sea? So there is no body. Now the people that supposedly killed him have, themselves been killed. What are we to believe? I’m not saying there is a conspiracy, but when you can’t believe anything that comes out of the POTUS’s mouth, ?...

Unless you actually know a little. Kookery? Do you know how valuable each one of those SEALs were? That many packed in a sardine can flown by an amateur? Special ops are more than the point of the sword in Afghanistan, they are the blade to the hilt. I have met two SEALs in my life and I am proud to say they are not only the bravest they are uber-patriots. Therefore they are a threat to any and all who disdain the Constitution. I don’t find it at all beyond belief that information about an operation could find its way into Taliban hands. Color me a conspiracy theorist on this one... for now.

Gentlemen ....here are some thoughts that I've had over the past 24 hours ...
For starters, I've been at Free Republic since 1996 ... so I'm NOT a DU Troll ...
So, as Jackie Gleason used to say "And Away We Go ..."
1) Osama Bin Laden was (carefully stated) the most "publicly visible" War Criminal since Hitler ...
2) Osama Bin Laden and Al Quada (sp) have certainly infiltrated the continental United States ... possibly a couple of years before 9/11 ...
3) Osama Bin Laden might have actually been "hiding" in Pakistan and then Executed-Captured by the United States military a few months back ...
4) "SEAL Team Six" may not even actually exist ... except on a Pentagon Public Relations / Counterintelligence chart ...
5) If I were the POTUS I actually would have assisted the Pentagon into "fabricating" the story of SEAL Team Six ... CERTAINLY THE UNIT'S names ... and possibly even Osama Bin Laden's capture-killing ...
6) Why fabriacate a ficticious military unit SEAL Team Six ?
7) To protect the ACTUAL combat fighters and their families, relative and GRANDCHILDREN for the next fifty (50) years ... against Al Quada retaliation ...
8) And what is the BEST way to handle this entire scenario ?
9) Allegedly kill Osama Bin Laden ... BURY HIM AT SEA (?????)
10) Murder or pretend to murder (by tragic accident, of course) ... the ENTIRE military unit SEAL Team Six ...
11) Dead Men tell no tales ...
12) At a minimum, IF there was a SEAL Team Six who really did kill Osama Bin Laden ... ALL OF THEIR SECRETS are now buried with them ...
13) Moreover, their Commanding Officers, CIA-NSA contacts, Support personnel will also be dead soon ... and all records Myteriously disappear ...
14) Could either President Bush or Bill Clinton EVER approved such a devious and evil plan ?
15) No ... not even Bill Clinton ...
16) Can you say the say about President Barry Sorreto ?
17) No. He is EVIL. He is NERO in Rome.
18) He is Obama Bin Laden ... the FIRST moslem POTUS ...
19) And as Barry will whisper into Mooschelle's ears tonight in the Whitehouse Lincoln Bedroom ... "May Allah be Praised" ...
.

Smells like a slick willie' Ron Brown coverup. Did you alter the title of the article to reflect that opinion?

I’ve read all of the comments so far by some very experienced and informed list of people. I do not disagree with them. However, something still “smells” about this news and my gut feeling is that there is more info to come. As I understand SEAL operations, they generally operate in small groups. Are 22 SEALS on one helo a “small group”? It is unusual to receive the news of the shootdown so early after the incident or at all. I’m not convinced all the info is out yet and may not be for quite some time, if ever, if something is amiss. BTW, I am a 6 year vet with combat experience and familiar with the fog of war.

The average temp. he says is about 110 so it is actually about the same or cooler than it is here in Dallas.....He has A/C in his quarters and it works, unlike some of the other quarters.....
Yup, he is a leatherneck and is happy to finally be putting all he has learned to use, he loves knowing he has a bunch of Marines in the back of the 53.....mostly night flying and he said he has never seen a place that can get so dark.....
