Ive been seeing and hearing too many Tea Party members claiming that the debt deal is a win for the Tea Party.
Be careful, the MSM is where this claim began and they are using it because they foresee a need to place blame in the not too distant future.
The claim that the Tea Party won the debt debate is a talking point from the progressives.
If you are claiming victory now, then you are also taking ownership of the future blame.

I agree and disagree.
As with the Battle of Thermopylae, where Sparta lost, this is a defeat. But we have changed the situation on the ground and bought a little time in which the rate of destruction by America's enemies in Congress is slightly reduced. The real question is whether we are going to go home and celebrate our "victory", forgetting that Obama and his followers are still coming after our future, or prepare and go all out to stop them in the big battle of 2012.
100% correct!
Plus this is a crappy bill anyway drafted once again behind closed doors
Unfortunately, I have heard it from a number of tea party folks.
Thankfully though I think they are in the vast minority.
I agree on the GOP establishment types, they are saying it as much as the Lefties are.
You read too much into what I said.
I in no way attempted to make the Tea Party seem to be one giant organization wherein we all think a like.
I was speaking in very general terms.
You and I know the Tea Party isn’t really a political party, but it’s useless to try and tell Tea Partiers to do or not do something or the media will spin it wrong. The media treats the Tea Party as an entity rather than a loose (very loose) association of like-minded people, and the media will write whatever they want to write regardless. In other words, they’ll find someone associated with the “Tea Party” who says whatever they want to spin, and they aren’t above quoting out of context whenever they can’t find exactly what they want.
I agree.
That is one reason why I try, when I write or on the occasions when I speak to reporters, to be specific in my words. I know they will spin anything they can.
In the end... I don’t actually care what they (the media) think.
Cory will be holding a townhall soon.
“U.S. Representative Cory Gardner will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting, on Monday, August 8, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM, at American Eagle Distributing, 3800 Clydesdale Parkway in Loveland”.
