Israel Plans to Strike Iran in September
Ynetnews ^

Posted on 07/16/2011 7:58:03 AM PDT by Amerisrael

[Nothing quite like tipping off our enemies in a time of war.]

[We are in a global war imposed on us by militant Islam. Israel is our closest ally in this global fight. If Robert Baer came by factual inside info and leaked it to the press, then he is guilty of treason!]

The following from Ynetnews:

"CIA official Robert Baer believes an Israeli strike against Tehran is rather imminent; predicts US will have to get involved

Israel may mount a strike against Iran in the fall, longtime CIA officer Robert Baer, who spent 21 years in the Middle East, told a Los Angeles radio station Saturday.

Baer ventured such a move will drag the United States into another major war and endangering US military and civilian personnel throughout the Middle East and beyond.

Baer spoke on the provocative KPFK Los Angeles show Background Briefing, hosted by Ian Masters.

Baer didn't name sources for his prediction of an Israeli attack, but the few he did cite are all Israeli security figures who have publically warned that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was adamant to strike Iran, such as former Mossad Chief Meir Dagan.

Baer said that "There is almost near certainty that Netanyahu is planning an attack (on Iran)… and it will probably be in September before the vote on a Palestinian state. And he's also hoping to draw the United States into the conflict," he explained.

The ax-CIA official went on to guess that the Israeli air force would attack "Natanz and other nuclear facilities to degrade their capabilities. The Iranians will strike back where they can: Basra, Baghdad," effectively forcing the US to "jump into the fight" with attacks on Iranian targets.

"Our special forces are already looking at Iranian targets in Iraq and across the border (in Iran) which we would strike. What we're facing here is an escalation, rather than a planned out-and-out war...it's a nightmare scenario. We don't have enough troops in the Middle East to fight a war like that. I think we are looking into the abyss," he said.

Yeah yeah - how many times have we read where Israel is gonna strike Iran in such and such a month.

I’ll believe it when I see it.

How many times do we have to hear this?

No matter how thin you slice it, it's still baloney.

Ex-CIA official Robert Baer

Left our the Ex part.

so its just some guy flailing away. With the curent state of relations with DC, does anyone really think Israel is going to tell Obama anything ahead of time?

“Yeah yeah - how many times have we read where Israel is gonna strike Iran in such and such a month.”

No kidding...it’s like a lottery. When Israel finally strikes, they guy who predicted that particular month wins - and gets to be an expert on the CBS Evening News.

This guy sounds like a prima-donna hysteric. In his Wiki bio, he gets high praise from Seymour Hersh, who is not someone that boosts credibility.

This guy is guessing and opposes such an attack. We should have dealt with Syria and Iran when we had huge forces in Iraq.

“Baer ventured such a move will drag the United States into another major war and endangering US military and civilian personnel throughout the Middle East and beyond.”

Hot news flash for Robert Baer:

Iran is already at war with the U.S. And has been perpetrating “acts of war” against us since 1979.

What have we done in response?

Iranian Revolutionary Guard agents have infiltrated Iraq and assisted the insuergency. Explosive devices that have injured- killed U.S. troops, were made in and smuggeled into Iraq`and Afghanistan by Iran.

Not to mention over 240 U.S. marines murdered by Iranian proxy Hezbollah in Beruit,Lebanon.

The Iranian proxy Hezbollah is just across the border training fighters in Mexico.

War with Iran-Hezbollah is comming to the U.S. mainland regardless of when, if, or where Israel strikes Iran’s nuclear sites.

We are in this together. Hezbollah is bigger and more dangerous threat to the U.S. than Al-Qaeda.

Like others have already said, this has been predicted before. If/when Israel decides they must act against Iran's leadership and nuclear program, it will come without warning and in a manner in which we have not considered feasible. They're very resourceful and capable when their backs are to the wall.

They've proven that many times with the capture of Eichmann, 1967 pre-emptive strike, Operation Wrath of God, crossing the Suez and cutting off the Egyptian forces in 1973, Entebbe raid, Osirak raid, Syrian reactor bombing, (possibly) Stuxnet, and a host of others we'll probably never know about.

Sure hope they can line up some tanker assets and not get shot down overflying those Muslim countries. Other than that, I think they can pull it off.

“endangering US military and civilian personnel throughout the Middle East and beyond.”

This always gives me pause.

Where/when in the ME/beyond are US military/civilian NOT endangered??

I really don’t think Netanyahu would first strike Iran knowing he would get absolutely NO support whatsoever from Obamajaad.

Now if a defensive move is required, that’s a different story. Netanyahu WILL defend. We shouldn’t underestimate what Obamajaad will stir up right before the elections. With barely anybody supporting his regime here in the US, he must feel threatened and desperate and that’s when he is most dangerous. Just like in 2008 when McCain/Palin were gaining in the polls, they pulled out the nice economic crisis hoax just 47 days before the election and blew our markets into oblivion.

Netanyahu knows he needs to hold off, if possible, until we can get a regime change here. Whereby he will have the support to blow Iran’s nukes off the map and end this krap in one fell swoop.

How about massive electromagnetic pulse bombs and tons of EW as the strike is happening, perhaps neutralizing an Iranian response? Too far fetched?
