Oh come on. This is the oldest one in the book. Blame your problems on some mental or drinking problem you have no control over.

Or at least the liberal view is that nobody has control over any impulses, thus, we have to excuse whatever led to a good Democrat seeking treatment for whatever it is.

If he has to go to a treament center, is he really able to discharge the duties of a member of Congress? Just asking.

So now the liberals and the MSM will excuse him because he’s seeking treatment. The MSM will say how he shed light on a major societal problem, rather than condemning him for the behavior which led to where he is now.

Mark Foley didn’t get such nice treatment after his lewd e-mails to male congressional pages. Of course Foley was an evil Republican, while Weiner is a good Democrat. The “D” after his name dictates how his story will be treated.

And the best part of all is that his Congressional Health Care will foot the bill for his stay and “treatment”.

In other words we, the taxpayers, will be picking up the tab for this ploy to keep his career alive.
