Beck's Aug 24th Event in Jerusalem: Will any GOP candidates attend? should they?
one man's opinion...

Posted on 05/20/2011 8:58:22 AM PDT by ken5050

Glen Beck announced today that his "Restoring Courage" event will be held in Israel, August 24th, at the southern wall of the Temple Mount. The event, which was first announced a few days ago, is now far more significant given Obama's speech yesterday, in which he called for Israel to return to its pre 1967 borders. This event is going to be huge, no doubt about it. And I'm wondering who will be the first GOP candidate to annonce that he, or she, will attend.

There’s a place for us to stand for Israel and it is in our political system here on our own ground.

Grandstanding is Israel doesn’t accomplish anything.

Then do that. I think a bit of grandstanding is just exactly what the situation calls for. But, it is going to take it all. It took a massive display of Veterans at the Vietnam War Memorial back in 2007 to send the message to Congress that this was a different day and age than the Vietnam War, and regardless of what you say, big statements have big meaning. This is why we have learned to get out in the streets once in a while.. to get the point across.

We, of course, can disagree. And I’m not nearly always right.

It makes the world go around. I am scheming on how to afford make it an even bigger deal by one, two or perhaps a plane load. I have wanted to do this for some time anyway.

As this moves forward, perhaps Obama will have his nose so ground into it that he backs up and then this whole deal with be pointless, but I doubt it.

There are going to be observances in the US hopefully, and you may choose to participate in one of them. Just understand, that protesting this opportunity to say me too.. is like saying not me. Regardless of whether it is Glenn Beck or Trump or Hannity or my aunt Penny's dog spot who is making the event happen.

This is right before the UN is to consider recognizing Palestine as a State, and this is something I have been assured by many sources will pass the main assembly and will be approved or not due to the US's veto. This is the way it is. You have to decide what you feel needs to be done here and go with that.

Beck announces major rally in Israel

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LV5WkVK4yjU&NR=1

Listen to Beck saying that all faiths must stand together..

The one world religion...

“common faith. That is Jerusalem”

No Beck all religions do not have Jerusalem as a common denominator..

BTW while those 6 Christian pastors were “standing” with Bonhoffer, the mormons in Germany were “standing” with Hitler...

I would only vote for someone like him, (Romney), for the same reason I voted for McCain.

Well I for one won't ever do that again...besides Romney Rhino will do himself in as usual. Unfortunately the media want him in so therein is the problem. I liked Beck for quite awhile there...until he started to merge his religious points into the mix...and thereafter he was more and more fruity for my taste...much to my disappointment. Beck reminds me of Tom Cruise when he gets all wired and frets out...and it doesn't take much for either to do that.

I had a conversation with an individual today who is all in for the one world religion...the lets all just get along bunch is not paying attention to God’s word. Jesus was clear about the “divisions” we should expect...between those who see Him as the Christ and those who don’t. The ‘New Agers’ are really pushing the unity of faiths...course ‘Mormonism’ does follow many eastern rites of passage as do ‘Scientologists’....Add ‘Hinduism’ to these three and they are basically already on the same page.

Every one of them thinks they can become a God or their own God. And they are all on board for uniting the faiths under one powerhouse....probably will be like the United NAtions only under a religious umbrella with a governing board to make certain most of the revenue goes to support the world governance and their agenda..

Itsn’t amazing that the tempter STILL uses that same old line he used on Eve...and it STILL works! Human nature does not change.......

Well I’m not surprised..he was doing that at the Washington March as well...did you notice and “see” the referances to his church then? Boy I did, but those unfamiliar with Mormon teachings likely missed them.

Yes, but they are all trying to unite the faiths so they will speak as a collective. That does not mean one or the other are going to just forget their own churches doctrines etc...it means they’ll all be pushing the tolerance, universal, joint, hinged and solidarity of all faiths toward whatever agenda they are being asked to support...and of course with their money as well.

They’re not quite so outraged because Pres. Osama didn’t say anything much different than Clinton or the Bushes have said. Osama just says it with no class.

I agree with you in many ways except that he keeps hitting the darn nail on the head. He tends to be Mr. gloom and doom and I don't go for that thing so much, but I truly believe his cries into the darkness have been saving this country in many ways and his work is on balance a blessing.

I have as he recommends, done my own research and he very often errs on the side of sunshine and happiness when you dig in.. His people do make mistakes and it can be pretty irritating, but he doesn't claim to be perfect and at least it points to into a direction where you might get a clue.

How the heck did he predict this crap storm with Israel so well???? He goes and organizes one of the biggest events ever to be held in Israel as a pure show of support and makes all of these plans and then boom.. Obama kicks everyone into high gear making Glen seem like he is being fed their script or something. The rates they are charging are very good.. for what you get but it is alot of money and alas, I don't have thousands of dollars running around to spare.. so I am crying in my beer.. about this.

When Joey Smith had sex with Helen Mar Kimball she was only 14 years old

That is child rape

Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_consent

In the United States, by the 1880s, most states set the age of consent at ten or twelve, and in one state, Delaware, the age of consent was only seven. A New York Times article states that it was still aged seven in Delaware in 1895. [4] Women reformers and advocates of social purity initiated a campaign in 1885 to petition legislators to raise the legal age of consent to at least sixteen, with ultimate goal to raise the age to eighteen; the campaign was successful: by 1920, almost all states had raised the age of consent to sixteen or eighteen.[5][6]

I am not saying that this was good or proper, but at the time it was certainly not considered child rape. Make sure you know your facts before making random charges that Offend and Stigmatize members of a religion based on behaviors of people other than themselves, especially if you are completely wrong and now you are defaming these folks.

What's not to like?

I just hope he remains a bit SILENT about item # 9 though...

The Articles of Faith
of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

  1. We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
  2. We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression.
  3. We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel.
  4. We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost.
  5. We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof.
  6. We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth.
  7. We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
  8. We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God.
  9. We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God.
We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory.
  10. We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may
  11. We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.
  12. We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things.

Joseph Smith

Other folks around here have other priorities.

And, no doubt, whatEVER those priorites are, one of them just might be FIRST!

Beck has a great talent for stating the obvious.

As well as the bogus, at times.
