Since adoption records are sealed, we won't be able to prove it. But that's probably why there are amendments to whatever form of b/c HI has on him and why the prior Governor said she had seen his records - with an "S". That fits with Sr. having to be brided to come back in '71 and why he had to stay for an entire month. Now, if Sr. and the Dunhams were able to have the Lolo adoption disolved and Sr. somehow was able to re-establish his rights again that is also sealed up tight. Whatever "family business" he was here to take care of wasn't just a nice little vacation to bring little Barry a Christmas present. We all suspect that trip was for legal reasons.
Now, IF Dreams may have a shred of truth and what Mama Sarah said about Sr.'s kids not having proof, well, that may be something. Obviously, she knows why Sr. made that '71 trip back to HI. She knows if Lolo adopted Barry and if Sr. wasn't able to re-establish parental rights. That would fit. The Kenyan born kids didn't have papers but the American baby mama kids did. However, "David", cough, was dead and Barry had been cut out of his inheritance when Lolo adopted him leaving only Mark. Now, as to why the Dunhams would want Sr. back in their lives, I suspect it had something to do with Punahou school. Many of the staff and board of directors were ga-ga over Kenya what with missions and $$$ sent there. Indonesian Barry would be a nobody but Kenyan Barry would be the golden child. So, getting Sr. back over to establish a solid Kenyan relationship would have sealed the deal with a lifelong free ride to the most elite school on the island. That would also play in with Sr. visiting Punahou and giving a speech to the students about Kenya. Wonder if he also played up little Barry's tall tale of being a tribal prince?
