Feminist Writer Tries to Put New Mother Natalie Portman in Her Place
David Horowitz's NewsReal Blog ^ | March 3, 2011 | Calvin Freiburger

The last time NewsRealBlog checked in on Natalie Portman, the actress was selling some new, decidedly-PC ideas about sex and love. But since her appearance at the Academy Awards accepting the Best Actress award for Black Swan, Portman has found herself on the other side of the feminist divide. LifeNews.com reports that part of her speech didn’t sit well with everyone:

After thanking fellow nominees, her parents, and the directors past and present who guided her career, Portman saved her concluding praise for “my beautiful love,” dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied.

Then, as if to underscore how the bright and promising career and the accolades she’s received up to that very moment paled in comparison, a visibly pregnant Portman thanked Millepied for giving her “the most important role of my life.”

The problem, according to Salon’s Mary Elizabeth Williams:
“At the time, the comment jarred me, as it does every time anyone refers to motherhood as the most important thing a woman can possibly do,” she wrote today. “But the reason why didn’t hit until I saw the ever razor sharp Lizzie Skurnick comment on Twitter today that, ‘Like, my garbageman could give you your greatest role in life, too, lady.’”

“When you’re pregnant, especially for the first time, there are a lot of amazed and awed moments in between the heartburn and insomnia. But is motherhood really a greater role than being secretary of state or a justice on the Supreme Court? Is reproduction automatically the greatest thing Natalie Portman will do with her life?” Williams wondered […]

Gawd, women are mean.

She meant her greatest role in life will be that of being a mother to a precious child that she will love with all her heart and if you witches don’t know how to comprehend that very obvious fact of nature then you deserve much pity. Biatches!

Feminist? Let’s be more precise. Lesbian. Which explains why she feels she has to denigrate motherhood. I don’t know who hurt you, Honey, but you need to forgive and stop hurting others.

I wonder if Mary Elizabeth Williams wishes her mother had done something different.

The only point of agreement I have with these people is how much they hate themselves. It’s really okay with me if they all skip the parenthood role

Hey, lady (using the term loosely). FYI, being a (decent) father is the most important thing a man can possibly do.

How again is such a concept sexist?

They regard it as sexist because they do not value parenthood or a concept of family.

I don’t have children. But I am fully in agreement that having and raising children correctly is the most valuable thing a couple can do.

And I am all for erecting that pedestal of respect and appreciation, paying for it to be constructed to help them raise their children, and helping parents get up onto that pedestal.

I think there is something seriously wrong with these feminist commentators. Sad.

That is the key part right there. People like Williams see the bearing and raising of children as simple reproduction, a utilitarian bovine device and function, much like mixing ingredients for a loaf of bread and putting it in the oven.

I think it is as if they boil down and absolutely define the writing of Hamlet to the to the physical act of touching a pen to paper, the absorption/drying of ink and binding into a book.

How sad for people like her that they miss the point. I do believe there is a huge reservoir of self-hate in these people, and a complete void of joy and happiness.

Left wing feminists are the most demented and evil monsters in the entire history of humanity. They cannot even comprehend the idea of caring about someone other than themselves. Only power has meaning to them.

I will not refer to these things as people.

Liberals believe parenthood is like the free market, too unstable, too full of winners and losers, too dependent on the individual.

That is why it takes a “village”, why we need gov’t to tell us what to feed our children, why we need centralized education, etc, etc.

But, make no mistake, Natalie Portman is a liberal and will probably renounce her statement.

Screeching immature fem-ninny: ‘Like, my garbageman could give you your greatest role in life, too, lady.’

So what's wrong with garbagemen, lady? Some great gentlemen are same.

And also a few great women. The sister of my neighbor drove a garbage truck most of her life. There are few as naturally well-disposed and, well, full of natural happiness as she is.

Capital ‘P’ Pride. The absolute root of all evil and the very sin that caused the fall of Adam and Eve; on display here. These people believe they are their own gods. These are grave sinners in need of prayer and their own repentance.

Portman’s annoying voice and demeanor is one of the things that made Star Wars Phantom Menace unwatchable. But that was a nice statement.

1. It is a GOOD thing that some people will not reproduce.

2. It’s a shame that Ms. Portman is not married to the father of her child, at least according to IMDB.com.
