It's amazing how technology allows you to condense two hours into four minutes, then set some stirring music to it. About 100 people jammed the sidewalks at the corner of Washington and MLK Streets on Wednesday to show our support for Gov. Scott Walker and his attempts to rein in the government unions. The SEIU was bussed in, and they handed out pre-made signs to the union protesters. We wondered if any of our tax dollars were directly or indirectly responsible for all of their fancy signs and banners. :)
“Can’t read your diploma? Thank a union teacher” LOL!
Nice... :D A man, presumably there with the unions, approached several of us in the crowd, trying to bait us into discussions about teachers’ unions and Georgia’s HOPE scholarship. He had flustered several of the women around me to the point they refused to talk to him. He then looked at me and started in. I told him he was picking a fight with the wrong man. He gave me a quizzical look, so I said I was a private school teacher who thinks the government school system is going to hell in a handbasket because of the unions, the overall purpose of the public school movement, and because of the insistence on raising a child’s self-esteem, thereby denying the students their God-given right to fail. He stammered a bit, then ran away. It was a nice moment for me :)
Love it! :)
Perfect music choice! (Battlefield 1943 Theme music)
That’s a hilarious sign! I’ve got a few other suggestions:
“Only in a unionized field can a physical education teacher be fat.”
“Only in a unionized field can pyromaniacs be allowed to put out your fires.”
“Only in a unionized field can a sexual molester be allowed to demonstrate condom usage to children.”
That “teacher” reminds me much of the rap musicians his system creates. They go on about how great their work is amongst their automaton buddies, but when they meet actual humans, they are exposed as phonies!
