Media predictions for disasters in the next two year:

1. Superstorms arise from the Pacific wiping out California.
2. Yellowstone erupts wiping out 2/3 of the United States.
3. Betelgeuse goes supernova wiping out the world.
4. Sarah Palin elected wiping out the entire universe.

I would worry more about this than anything else.

But, even so, I doubt it would actually wipe out life on Earth. The Big B is very big, but, not that big.
