I think the combine chose to not fraud the senate seat but they could not afford to lose the Gov mansion, so they threw the senate seat to the Republicans to cover tracks and stop allegations allegations of election fraud.

They could do without the Senate seat but not the Governorship.

No clearer case of voter fraud occurred in this cycle on a bigger scale than what happened in Cook County, Illinois in stealing the Governor’s race on behalf of the IL Combine. We have FReepers who can attest to the fraud who were on the ground.

Between the primary and general elections, Sen. Brady should have campaigned more among independent and undecided voters. He should have known that the majority of conservatives would vote for him.

When living in Chicago I beat Richard J Daley for mayor and carried Peter Bensinger by 1 vote. 12pct, then the 12th (SW side Brighton Park) ward. Today it’s part of Burkes 14th ward. What the offical recorded count shows today I don’t know, but it should show a very close vote. The late Mr.Bensinger never even thanked me.

During the general when the early balloting opened up at local Chicago libraries I tried contacting Freepers to get some signs around these places and had no takers. Some told me they wanted nothing to do with Chicago. None are recipients of this reply.

One thing about social issues. Pocket book issues trump social issues and in this election there were ample pocket book issues. When your current crop of “progressives” bring them up they’re obfuscating their handywork and should be accused of “distracting attention from their costly creations”.

The object for the candidate who hold those sundry social is to get elected so they can be advanced.

I applied that principle (which is in my website http://www.theusmat.com/home.htm ) when advising my candidate for the 72nd State Assembly district in Wisconsin held by 20 term (2yr) state assemblyman ledgendary Marlin Schneider. My candidate, Scott Krug, also worked his ass off. While his victory was a surprize to the state GOP who gave him tacit support, it was not to me.

The point I’m making here is that the situation here is very similar to Chicago. Solid blue district. No local boots to ring door bells, no organization to put up signs.
Even less means of contacting voters than in the city except house to house blitzing. We’re now working to create organization for 2012.
