I have actually never really taken a vacation my entire working life.
The time I spent back here during my “break” while I was overseas in Iraq was mainly spent house-hunting and seeing friends and family in Columbus.
the one vacation I had planned was to go Baltimore to see Ripken play in his last season and to show my soon to be wife the DC area and where I grew up. The problem there is some a$$hole$ decided to pick that day to fly into some buildings and into a field in Pennsylvania. And yes I still have the tickets to that game.

I took a Friday off and tiled the bathroom.
Does that count?

I was almost through a 70 hour week when I collapsed. Hell, when I did take time off I had to stay near the phone.

Oh I love it, thanks. That is one of my favorite times of the day. It is so peaceful and beautiful.

One year I was there on the 4th of July (many moons ago) and it was, iirc, 42 degrees F.
I don't think I have ever caught a fish in that lake, although I am assured they exist.
My dad began taking me there (and thereabouts) when I was in the single digits. Last year, the same lady ran the lodge we used to stay at even back then, God bless her.
