Yes Ryan is a legislator, but he has a lot of good ideas. I am not seeing a lot of electable candidates—For example,
Ryan is a legislator, not an executive.

Don’t forget we need good legislators, too.

He also voted for TARP, 95% tax on AIG bonuses, and car company bailouts, among others.

I love Palin, but I am not sure she is electable....

I never said Ryan is perfect—no politician is...not sure about “among others” means...he is in Wisco—home to Chrystler....and he may have been following will of his consituants on that if he voted for it—I don’t follow his every vote like you seem to. Not sure about other votes, but regarding Tarp, he did vote for TARP and was on the radio explaining WHY. He was and was fairly articulate and honest about why he voted yes. I am broadly summarizing my recollection.... As a former businessman and economics major, he said he had never seen the numbers that he saw (from economists, etc.) regarding credit, the economy, etc. and felt that he had to vote for it or the economy could freeze up. I don’t know if he would do things differently now, but at the time with the information he had, he felt he was making the best decision. My Rep (a GOP) voted for it as well.

I forgive her....I forgive Ryan. Hindsight is 20/20 and I don’t think he is selling out our country and I don’t think he is a RINO.

I don’t know, he talks big when we’re in the driver’s seat but sometimes he votes for dumb stuff like the bailout bill. Typical elected republican.

Ok, fair enough—sorry if I misunderstood....

—there are some here on FR that have their preferred candidates and will to try and disparage others. I like both Palin and Ryan—would love to see either of them run. I hope others will emerge soon. I am tired of the same old GOP candidates...I really like the idea of fresh faces, new blood, and most importantly, new conservative ideas!

Wow. They’re really running scared from Sarah. What jerks. They can’t win on the issues, so they try to personally attack the enemies they fear most.

As of now, YES...she is one of the few with the guts to do/say what needs to be be done.

Of the major players, I only trust her and Bachman. Between the two, I give the edge to Sarah, because she has a track record of busting heads, and she doesn't get lost in the weeds, as I think Bachman sometimes does.

“I love Palin, but I am not sure she is electable....”

I can’t believe how many conservatives are falling for this meme being fed to us 24/7 by the liberal-leaning media.

So far, I haven’t seen a polling company willing to poll Romney and Palin for the nomination-—they always add Huckabee. Take him out...he’s not running. Who wins head-to-head, Romney or Palin?

That poll needs freeping just so the no votes don’t get too big.

Oh I am not falling for the theme—my opinion is more anecdotal than anything else—my women’s group did not particularly like her as VP choice—they are more moderate republicans than I am; and my conservative husband and son don’t think she can win—they are not sure enough of country will vote for her.

My take, it is still early, and I am hoping that we get new choices besides Romney, Ginrich which is why Ryan appeals to me.

That said, I like Palin-—I like her politics and ideas and will support her if she is the nominee, just not sure how she plays out in general election.

Palin, Bachmann, Pence, Cantor, Ryan, King(IA), DeMint...maybe 4 or 5 more.

“Same here. But I could definitely live with someone like Paul Ryan. Two things against him: very young, just turned 40 and nobody has ever gone from the House of Representatives to the presidency.”

We never had a POTUS who was a Communist Community Organizer
before, either ;-)
