Megyn Kelly Says Obama "Not Accurate" in Attack on Supreme Court Ruling - Video 1/28/10

Here is video of Fox News' Megyn Kelly talking with Bill O'Reilly about President Obama's attack on the Supreme Court during his State of the Union Address, and his claim that their recent ruling opens the door to "foreign companies" being able to influence political campaigns through making contributions.

Kelly said flatly that the Supreme Court ruling does not allow that to happen. Laws are still in place to prevent foreign companies from contributing to U.S. political campaigns.

Kelly said, "That, as spoken by President Obama, is not accurate." She also said that it is unprecedented for a U.S. President to frontally attack the Supreme Court during a State of the Union Address.

O'Reilly promoted Megyn Kelly's new show which will begin on Monday at 1:00 PM called "America Live." . . . (VIDEO)

President Wrong on Citizens United Case [Bradley A. Smith]

Tonight the president engaged in demogoguery of the worst kind, when he claimed that last week's Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. FEC, "open[ed] the floodgates for special interests — including foreign corporations — to spend without limit in our elections. Well I don't think American elections should be bankrolled by America's most powerful interests, or worse, by foreign entities."

The president's statement is false.

The Court held that 2 U.S.C. Section 441a, which prohibits all corporate political spending, is unconstitutional. Foreign nationals, specifically defined to include foreign corporations, are prohibiting from making "a contribution or donation of money or ather thing of value, or to make an express or implied promise to make a contribution or donation, in connection with a Federal, State or local election" under 2 U.S.C. Section 441e, which was not at issue in the case. Foreign corporations are also prohibited, under 2 U.S.C. 441e, from making any contribution or donation to any committee of any political party, and they prohibited from making any "expenditure, independent expenditure, or disbursement for an electioneering communication."

This is either blithering ignorance of the law or demagoguery of the worst kind.

President Obama’s comment was inappropriate and unprofessional. Frankly, he’s sounding desperate.

Pretty hot, isn’t she?

Would I be mistaken if I thought that she has by far one of the brightest minds on cable TV news? I’m looking forward to seeing her new show this Monday!

It occurs to me that Obama save his biggest and most blatant lies for venues such as the SOTU, where lots of people will hear them, but no one can call him on them without incurring the wrath of the venue.

I would call that oratorical cowardice. He uses the cover of ‘decorum’ to spout the biggest lies, and then depends on that decorum to spare him from being called out as a liar. We saw what happened to Joe Wilson. And the same thing is happening to the Supreme Court justice, only now they are taking someone to task not for speaking out but for simply having an unacceptable expression on his face or shaking his head! Though police, pure and simple.

As bad as all this is to me it simply means that when the end comes it will be even more dramatic and explosive. There's a lot of anger building up in the citizenry right. And just as with a pressure cooker if there's no way to release some pressure the pot explodes! Happened at my grandmother's house one time. They repainted the ceiling to cover the roast and potatoes and carrots, but in those days the paint wasn't all that good and after a while the spots would show through. That was over 60 years ago. I'll bet if you scrape off a few layers of paint you'll still find the remains of that stew!

I think it’s an effort on the part of the Socialists to politicize the judicial branch, thus weakening them.

This is getting ugly...
