Why should any visitor to a Christian country be offended by Christian traditions and decorations? Im not offended by the overt signs of other countries differing religions and traditions; in fact, I enjoy them.
What is more, I know for sure that there are Christmas trees and decorations in Dubai, that go up as the Eid celebration finishes. One officious counter lady in our local PO tried to stop me using a proper (ie Religious) stamp on a card to Dubai 2 years ago. She was astonished when I told her that she would see Christmas decorations there...

My thoughts follow along pretty much with what this article is expressing.
Anytime a group is holding an event anywhere - it’s a huge positive to roll out everything the culture of the host embraces. That’s one of the benefits of going wherever you are going - seeing the local culture lit up to the max. If I were the one attending, no matter where I was going, this is what I would want to see. What the locals do and believe, what their celebrations are. What could be better for your visitors than to show them how you are all dressed up for your most important holiday? Celebrate who you are and what you can show your visitors.
So we have gone from energy-efficien “Earth Friendly” Christmas tree light bulbs to absolute banishment of the tree?
