The Chinese Connection via the CLSA: Sarah Palin Enters the Lion's Den
It's a Kwazy Life ^ | September 21st, 2009 | Tom Lamb

When the news was just coming out that Sarah Palin was going to speak before the CLSA. I was asking Will Sarah Palin Punk the Living Borat out of the CLSA?

Well a spokesman (Jonathan Slone) has come out and put blame on Palin for the news black-out.

There are other sites like Conservatives 4 Palin who are peddling the Breitbart version of Slone's remarks, but the bottom line on the story is the CLSA didn't have to say what Palin said.

Period.

These sites had better ask, what did Sarah say if there is no press and who will leak what she said? How will that be spinned? And how realistic is it for Sarah to believe that her comments would not be leaked out?

Moreover, it puts Palin in a tenuous position of defending a position that can be viewed as controversial.

Palin to address U.S.-China relations in Hong Kong speech to investors

Palin, who may be trying to beef up her foreign policy bona fides in preparation for a 2012 presidential campaign, will speak to the CLSA Investors Forum on Wednesday about U.S. foreign policy.

"We have asked her to address U.S. foreign policy, to discuss her views on governance, healthcare and, of course, China," Jonathan Slone, CLSA's CEO, told Agence France Presse.

The address, however, will be closed to the press.

"[W]e said to her, 'Look, we want you to give the most information to our clients. Do you feel comfortable doing that with the press around?' " Slone said.

"She said, 'If I do that with the press in the room, I will have to say different things.' "

This was an e-mail I sent to an individual on the topic of Slone.

This one has the smell of set up as does the one in Michigan. SarahPac is doing a lousy job at handling this.

Tom

This group (CLSA) is not friendly to Palin and I hope she goes in with guns a-blazing and shoots down what has transpired overseas in China and with the markets that revolve around Chinese companies that are state owned but are listed on the stock market.

Other sites who want to bolster Palin's credentials by pointing to the CLSA do no service to Palin.

“She said, ‘If I do that with the press in the room, I will have to say different things.’ “

This part just sound like a weasel. I hope Palin realize not to assume there wont be a media leak

It amazes me how many experts out there feel they need to coach Mrs. Palin. Seems she is doing just fine without them.

This will be a very Pro-Business, Pro-American speech. Her “core beliefs” don’t change whether the Fringe Media is in attendance or not.

I’m with you....this reminds me of the “Sambo - b%tch” story. Remember that?
Laughing loudly while she said it too.
I think she kicked a puppy on her way out of the diner.

I can bet you any money she is getting coached on what is said.

Would you care to differ?

1. People who thought they were smart said the same thing about Reagan. Those people were irrefutably wrong.

2. Mrs. Palin at times invokes a simplistic or 'folksy' tone, (I refer to it as "charming" or "down-to-earth"), thus so-called smart people miss the message and think her not "intellectually" able.

3. You cannot prove your assertion any more than I can prove that you are a vile little man/woman bent on bringing Mrs. Palin down by whichever means, however malicious, you can muster.

Now, have a good day and enjoy your standing in the David Frum Fan Club.

Here is something to think about. I have spoken to Palin on an issue like gangs in Alaska and on other things. This was before Palin was a Governor and a gleam in your eye. So save your ad hominem argument for yourself, because you do Palin no service.

Randy Scheunemann is acting as her advisor, proves she is being coached, cautioned, informed "advised.".

Hence the word advisor.

You might want to brush-up on Scheunemann with his stance on the Baltics, Eastern Europe, etc, etc. And learn and do something other than make outrageous accusation on some imaginary fan club.

Every President or aspirant to that office has advisors. That doesn’t mean the former ceases thinking for themselves...as you obviously have.

Are you guys even really disagreeing here?

Yes, the press is filled with people who in a condescending and patronizing manner somehow feel entitled to give Palin public counseling and advice. (While they shamelessly jump on the interest in her to goose their readers or viewers.)

And yes, like any high-level politician, she should be expected to call upon experts and advisers in specific areas.

The liberal jackals of the Jon Stewart news media have already demonstrated their total incompetence in reporting the news. And given their cheer leading status of all things leftist, Sarah is in good company keeping the door shut to their distorted minds. Of course she would have to give a whole other speech IF the press were invited. Ever listen to BamaKennedy speak, lies and distortion and the media whores nearly faint at his eloquence.

It’s evident you missed the logic and the point...

Not difficult to miss something never present in the first place. If I learn anything I'm confident that it will not be from one like yourself.

*Thanks* for boring me.
