Joe Trippi Says "Republicans are Trying to Make Obama Another Jimmy Carter" - Video 9/6/09

Reacting to the resignation of Van Jones, here is video of Joe Trippi and Ed Rollins talking with CNN's John King today, where Trippi said Republicans are trying to make President Obama "another Jimmy Carter" - meaning a failed President. Trippi had said Obama has the potential to be "FDR or Jimmy Carter."

They were talking about the impact of the Van Jones resignation on the Obama Presidency. Rollins also said that Jones had "embarrassed the President," and that he did the right thing to resign.

Rollins sounded a warning in pointing out Obama has over 30 of these "czars," as if we could see more controversy in the future.

I do NOT want to make Obama Jimmy Carter. Jimmy Carter, for all his faults, was an American patriot who served in the U.S. Navy, and in his own, goofy, disjointed way, still loves the US. Obama would have to IMPROVE to be Jimmy Carter.

Another Jimmy Carter? We should be so lucky. If Obama were merely as incompetent, America-hating and indecisive as Carter, I wouldn’t have this sick feeling about the next four years. I would know that we will survive. With Obama as the most powerful man on earth, I have no such assurance.

You know, back during the campaign, I told my father that he would be the next Jimmy Carter. He had compromised his leftist record, portrayed himself as a centrist, waffled on everything according to polls, and had no real core values or beliefs. He would not be able to please the Republicans or the Democrats, because he would try to be all things to everybody, to be Mr. Popular.

Jimmy was a good man, but a terrible President. Obama is a hollow man, ruled by polls, who can’t govern his way out of a paper bag. I no longer thing he’s the next Jimmy Carter. He’ll be far worse and more dangerous.

I am ASHAMED to admit that I voted for him; I was a young impressionable Christian and I, along with many others was decieved. This was the first and last time I have ever voted for a democRAT. It was the single biggest mistake I have ever made politically and I along with all of America SUFFERED for it for 4 miserable years. I know first hand the misery Carter imposed upon all of America and Obamessiah makes Jimmy Carter look like Lincoln in comparison, he is that BAD and that DANGEROUS to the safety and well being of all Americans and of America itself.
