Bachmann: Dems out to sabotage Palin, conservative women

The DC GOP establishment thinks Bachmann is a gaffe machine. Bachmann called Obama a socialist on Chris Matthews. In 2008, the NRCC cited a poor fundraising efforts and theofre refused to fund Bachmann’s re-election. Grassroot conservatives picked up the tab for her and she won 46-43.

I’m not following.

She calls Obammie the Commie exactly what he is, and the GOP establishment considers that a gaffe?

If so, the GOP is the epitome of the gaffe machine.

What we need are more conservatives (and Republicans) who can call a spade a spade (no racial context intended) to make a clear, conservative statement to the American people. It’s trying to mince words and straddle fences that has the GOP doubled over holding its crotch.

If I were advising Palin on the topic it would be to let it happen, and if it dies down, encourage it by poking a pin or two into the fatuous blowhards in the media and in DC. She can't lose those battles. Two years from now when Vanity Fair digs Levi Johnston out from whatever crackhouse he ended up in and trots him out for another tell-all, who's going to look good and who's going to look stupid? When some self-aggrandizing cow who names herself "Celtic Diva" bleats that Sarah's shoelaces were the same color as some commercial enterprise, who's going to look stupid? When Alan Colmes suggests that her airline travel caused Downs or Andrew Sullivan titters that Trig is somebody else's baby, who's going to look stupid?

This is pure gold, politically, or rather it's rope, and as long as she continues to pay it out they'll hang themselves and never know it until the noose tightens and she ends up in office.
