The fact isn't terribly surprising, but that it comes from the mouth of one of President Obama's biggest cheerleaders is a shock.

Howard Dean is Joe Biden’s missing separated at birth twin. Both run off at the mouth, occasionally usefully.

Don’t fall for this head fake!

It makes little or no real difference if this provision is in the bill.

The “public option” is imposed via other elements of the bill, which take effect in the event of ANY CHANGE in your insurance terms.

Also, it can easily be imposed as an attachment to any other legislation that comes along.

Yeah, on the stimulus package, it was “Give us a pot of money and we’ll figure out good things to do with it.” On health care, it’s “Give us ultimate power over everything and then we’ll figure out what we’re doing.”

Gag, the link took me to an MSNBC clip. I think I threw up a little in my mouth before I shut that thing down.

With the Congress having a Democrat Majority member vote in both houses....These Dems are pretty open and brave.....They don’t think anyone can stop them.

I hope that the states pursuing 10th Amendment legislation are drawing up plans to fight this in the Supreme Court. How they think they can force us to accept the public option when our current insurance ‘changes’ is beyond me. I thought I was living in a FREE country!!

You can download it at whitehouse.gov.

I assume you mean the Trojan Horse. One Freeper recently checked her cookies and found 48 .gov cookies on her computer, she was shocked. I won't go near a .gov site unless I absolutely have to and then will delete the cookies immediately.

When a RAT qualifies a statement he/she/it is making by inserting the word “honestly” you *know* it’s a lie.

Yep it is a head fake completely. These bills must die and real reform stating with tort reform has to replace it. Everything that needs done can be passed on one page of legislation. As we know though this isn’t waht the democrats want. There was a female representaive on Fox this morning that read directly from the bill how it states that there has to be a public option so this bill must die completely, no compromise, kill it!

He knows he has the votes in the House, and he knows he can squeak it through the Senate so long as the public option is off the table. But he also knows that once the sanitized version passes the Senate, he no longer needs to overcome a filibuster, which means that the reconciled bill between the House and Senate bills (which will likely end up with something that resembles the House version and will certainly contain a public option) will only need a simple majority in the Senate.

1) I thought they were already planning to bypass the 60 vote rule via "reconciliation." Maybe they don't even have 50 senate votes with the "public option?" If that were true, then the Dem plan would be to work on getting 50 votes while the bill was in conference, with the US public unaware that they sneaked the public option back in.

2) When Kent Conrad said "Look, the fact of the matter is there are not the votes in the U.S. Senate for the public option. There never have been. So to continue to chase that rabbit, I think, is just a wasted effort," was that another fake to make obamacare opponents overconfident?

3) Is there anything the senate can do to prevent a bill it passes from becoming the house bill in the senate/house conference? If not, the benefits of having 2 houses of congress seem dubious.

I read yesterday that they are looking at changing the rulz to allow passage on a simple majority vote.

Then 51 votes would suffice.
